Here, I will post so that other threads are spared this nonsense.
A tv series or movie might be nonsense, just like a book, music or art, depending simply on one’s individual taste. That you obviously follow closely what I watch and listen to, for that you often even have to speak out - which I don‘t do - speaks volume about yourself, Reggie. I have fun. You obviously hate it and yet can‘t stop, lol.
Therefore let’s focus on the positive again. Here is a fun story by Tom Ellis about how he met George Clooney in a hotel elevator in Vancouver. To imagine him standing in a short woman’s bathrobe in an elevator together with Clooney…
lolololololol
Well, if you really feel this strong need to comment on something which is 100 % just based on individual taste like series/movies, books, music, pictures etc., then feel free to spew your hatred. I rather prefer to comment on the positive ones, if I even comment to any of your posts in such topics. You both know you need to, let it all out!
I have seen the showrunners, Laura German and even that huge black guy DB Woodside breaking into tears when speaking positively about Tom Ellis. Therefore I am not surprised about what Lesley-Ann Brandt has to say about him. He really seems to be a beautiful person outside as well as inside. Nice to know.
A very short but emotionally intense friendship between Lucifer and a priest. First he despised him but the passion for music was the turning point. Luci opened up. Way more fascinating to watch was the death scene (especially because of the various emotions the actor pulled off) and even more so, in the aftermath his shouting toward his father from his loft into a wonderful night sky. But this I will post tomorrow.
Lol@absurdly adorable (Decker says this to Luci describing his friendship with the priest).
I love that he showed for the first time some mild site, by replying with a hoarse voice to Decker at 1:29, that he already presses the shot wound of father Frank. Well, he only says „I am“, lol. But you can hear by how he says these two words, that he cares for him deeply and that he feels helpless and desperate. That priest was his first friend. He never had one before. Which explains his rage towards the shooter (and killer, as Frank dies). And this rage scene is very fascinating, as he changes his facial expressions very much back and forth. He fights against his impulse to punish that scum and only remains from doing so in respect of his friend.
And ok, he just looks sexy too, lol.
That punishing-reference just reminded me on a different scene which plot started already with the murder happened in the pilot. What hit me was, that in a way later episode it was shown why this ruthless and empathyless murderer of that female singer in the pilot became so rotten. When dead, his individual hell-loop (this is what punishment in hell looks like in that series) you could see what was the last nail into his coffin, meaning, after his dad left his little family, also his mom finally leaves him. Sitting in an ugly motel-like room. But no abuse was happening, if I remember correctly. This obviously was the turning point for him to become so empathyless and egoistic. I remember I felt bad to feel suddenly empathy for him. Of course no one is born as scum. But I also believe that there is a certain kind of murderers, who also suffer from psychological illness, which can‘t be healed and who need to stay behind bars forever. Nevertheless, the effect that episode had, is something I still remember well. I will try to find those flicks after the last priest scene I will post tomorrow. Stay tuned!
The final clip of the priest episode. I need to be cautious what I label as my favourite scene in Lucifer. But this here certainly belongs to my favourites to choose from. Not just because of what he shouts out at God (his father), but that very last picture. Where he says nothing anymore and just stares up into the sky in his rage/despair. I can‘t find words to describe what I am feeling watching him. I certainly felt a similar rage (but no despair), when filling out that formular the Catholic Church sent me after I told them I want to leave, lol. That paper had not enough space to fill in all my reasons.
Jimmy Barnes. The story about this vile, disgusting piece of a human being, which the Lucifer writers managed nevertheless to rise some empathy for him in a way later episode. Even season I think.
It starts with the pilot, when Barnes ex-fiancée Delilah, a very insecure woman with singing talent, made a lot of bad choices in her life regarding men and drugs. But thanks to Luci, who introduced her to Barnes, she became famous. She meets up again with Luci out of fear she might have sold her soul to the Devil in exchange for his favour - which Luci denies. In the pilot you could see by this scene, that the main character of the series isn‘t inherently bad, but in his core a basically good guy. He demanded nothing from her but to „pull herself together“. So far so good. She just never gets the chance to do as she promises him.
The killing of Delilah.
Lucifer meets Jimmy Barnes at his wedding. This is a very funny scene, where the watcher for the first time learns about Lucis ability to lure out peoples deepest desires.
Barnes gets what he deserves. Well, actually not what he deserves. Cause that would be against human rights.
The last clip showing a glimpse at least why he became a murderer, I will post tomorrow. I hope I will find it as well on YouTube, though. But now I need to finish breakfast and to walk my dog to drive to the office right in time.
Here, it looks like you’re approaching your limit, again.
Ah great, thanks!
I had to search as I didn‘t remember the season the hell loop of Jimmy Barnes was shown since his case happened already in the pilot! It was only in the final season (season 6)! And how could I even forget about it, as his hell was a comic strip!!! Oh my, lol.
Lucifer, on the brink to become the successor of his father after God followed his wife into her universe, wasn‘t yet sure if he is capable of that job description. Which means for example, to help all people, not just the ones he loves and cares about. As there aren‘t that many, lol. So he decided to test himself by trying to help the worst of all he met since on earth. Jimmy Barnes.
Chloe, as his partner and future counselor, insists to join him on his trip to hell. I don‘t remember the reason, but after entering the cell of Barnes, Lucifer lost all his celestial power. And his world turned upside down in that comic hell loop. Hilarious, lol.
All I remembered before rewatching these clips was, that I felt bad for developing pity for Barnes, after I‘ve got introduced to that key scene in his childhood, after first his dad and finally also his mom left him. And so did Lucifer (I forgot about that as well). He even says that this doesn‘t excuse what he did and that he even doesn’t know if he deserves the help Lucifer is trying to give to him. But that he now at least can understand, why he became the person he is as an adult. Out of fear to get abandoned.
Having seen those scenes again, I don‘t feel bad about myself having felt pity for Barnes. It‘s a good thing to feel empathy. Even for people who don‘t deserve it, as they haven‘t realized what bad they did. Cause that would make a huge difference.
Oh well, enjoy!
PS: The first Video is mostly funny, the second is rather sad but also somehow positive.
Unfortunately that full scene is only uploaded on TikTok. But the end is worth it. Lucifer having a moment (
) with a fruit seller, telling her how to pick the perfect strawberry. The very last second…
This is funny, because of Lauren’s fearful behaviour. And of Ellis in the first video, how he tries to downplay his „excitement“, lol.
It‘s of course not poisonous, nevertheless it‘s not an animal I would want to get out of a sack and to hold while delivering some dialogue either, lol. The snake even once tries to bite him or even bit him. He nevertheless kept on acting. Ok, here I definitely would have let it fallen and jumped away, lol. But Lauren really, really had Angst. You can not just see this by her body language, but also hear it in her voice. Poor Lauren. Poor snake too, as also the snake had fear. But it‘s also funny to watch from a save place, lol.
Tom Ellis gets taught about how to handle the snake by it‘s trainer. This is filmed by fellow actress Aimee Garcia, which is clearly recognizable by her funny snorting laugh, lol. I love her.
Rehearsal:
Final tv scene:
Chloe (wearing a dress left behind of one of Lucis sex partners): What was she wearing when she left?
Luci: A smile.
But Chloe’s STD remark is equally funny, lol.
Some beauty for my eyes this time. And no, not that woman, which face is far from it. I speak of Luci of course, lol. And it‘s a funny clip too. Only Lucifer wants to meet his married sex interests hubby in his own house and manages to get a deal with him, lol.
PS: That scene starts at 0:41.
For some murder investigation Lucis sex partners of the last 8 weeks need to get questioned. Luci thinks that‘s a great idea to convince his annoyingly resistant new sex interest (the female detective), about his qualities, lol.
Deleted the recent uploaded video for a better one because it‘s not cutted. It starts so well for Luci - till he heard something he obviously never heard or considered before. And it thankfully sank in.
But the most funny moment to me is, when Luci and Dan lean forward to understand what Chloe is whispering to one of those women, as Luci did bring her food, lol.
Ah yes, Lucis slutty days, lol. This one here is funny because of Chloe’s reaction when he tried to find out why she is so angry about a certain paparazzi they just encountered. Being disgusted about the privacy level of his questions, she nevertheless is curious enough to ask what that Eiffeltower position is he mentioned, lol.
The answer gets him shoved out of her house. Something which never has happened to him before. It‘s not in the clip, but getting kicked out for the first time ever by a human had a huge effect on him, as to be seen in a later therapist session, lol.
