Pretty good so far. It’s a horror comedy about a cursed New England island. The main character is the mayor. He is trying to increase tourism, while finding the island is haunted at the same time.
Not hilarious or that scary, but still entertaining. The kind when you look forward to the next.
This isn’t a TV show, really. It’s the nightly TV sign-off of Radio Québec (both radio and TV) from the early 80s. The girl is Veronique Beliveau who 16 year old Reggie was totally in love with. They did a bunch of these with her. This one is themed on Ravel’s Bolero, which is one of my favourite pieces of music ever. I loved Québec music back then, and Radio Québec was the home of Québec music. Actually that’s incomplete. I just loved Québec, full stop. I still do, even if it’s mostly just memories now, and even though Montréal has never looked worse.

For many years I am watching Steel Buddies/Morlock Motors. It’s a german tv docu soap around the owner of a mainly US used military vehicle and equipment dealer, Michael Manousakis. A unicorn, so to speak, lol. A one of a kind. A berserk. Low education, but with a mechanical talent - and that will to suceed somehow. As a 19 year old, he worked as a diver in Nigeria. With 21 he joined the Bundeswehr to become a sniper and later started his US military equipment dealing imperium. Finally he pursued his big dream of being a pilot. He managed to fly with the biggest single-engined double decker, a 41 year old ukrainian Antonov AN-2, which has a maximum speed of only 180 kmh. With extra tanks his team built, he did, what no pilot with a healthy mind would do. To fly over the Atlantic to the USA (where he sold the Antonov in exchange for a special Cessna) via the Azores and Greenland. He even was allowed to circle around the Liberty State in New York (allegedly the responsible flight supervisor mistook his slow AN-2 for a helicoper). Mind boggling. Bezo & his Bits and Bites friends are more successfull and have more money, but they are boring. Wouldn’t watch or read anything about their lives.
Him landing at that field, lol. I love it.
Screwdrivers are made by oneself, and metal fences would be used to get a few centimeters of needed wire for the plane, lol.
Michael Manousakis managed to repair with his team this old DC3 to fly with it over the Alps to Krete, where his father came from. Flew with a few of his Greek family sude there around Krete, and took 6 barrels of best olive oil with him back to Germany. What a guy. Academics as parents, but no professional education or higher school diploma. Just an incredible fascination and talent for everything mechanic and the will to succeed in that area. And adventures. Drawn to every extreme.
And a great connection to his daughter, who has interest in mechanic as well. Became a plane mechanic.

Thank God for that this show is Broadcast every sunday morning from about 8 am on. As soon as that melody starts, I am smiling for two hours straight, enjoying my coffee and my dogs lying beside me on the couch. The perfect sunday morning for me.
P.S.: As a kid, I hated this Tristan character. Now I am more relaxed and can laugh about him being a lazy and irresponsible idiot, but at least I can appreciate, he is good at heart and stands with all means on your side if a crisis is on. But he still triggers me, lol.
Robert Hardy and Christopher Timothy are wonderful.
I just found this nice article written as an obituary to Robert Hardys death. This short summary of him playing the character of Siegfried, is perfect. He played that opposite character so well and so likable, you had to laugh about his negative sides.

This reminds me why I don’t join common bus trips to skiing weekends with people at work not anymore. They played techno all the way. So loud. I once went berserk and shouted at the dj, a co-worker (otherwise he couldn’t hear me), if he won’t stop it or at least turns down the volume, I am going to throttle him. I meant it. He realized it. And it worked, lol. Certain music and sounds have the effect of a weapon.
