I liked the first season. It was 3 years ago, so I don’t remember it. I guess the writer has sexually assaulted many women, so they are only doing two seasons. Hopefully, it has an ending.
It was the same writer who created the comic book, Lucifer. Neil Gaiman. The tv series was loosely based upon his comic. I am glad Lucifer was able to finish it’s tv series right in time. I would be heart broken otherwise.
My guess is, sexual (and abuse in all its form) happens way more often than we know. Rich or poor. Wherever there is a power disbalance, abuse is always a danger. Alone from what I have read in chat here, some also have the fantasy and are open to it if they would have the opportunity.
I hope he gets a prison sentence and gets raped behind bars if the accusations are true.
The way she looks when she says „wow“ after seeing him in his uniform, lol.
P.S.: This reminds me on a convention I watched a few months ago. I dislike those conventions due to the usually very silly questions asked. But once there was a still teenager I guess, due to the very soft and young sounded voice, as she wasn‘t seen. She couldn’t speak anymore when the micro was reached to her. So star struck she was, lol. She even cried. He was acting very sweet, lol.
Miranda. Such a gem of a simple kept yet ridiculously funny and heartfelt tv show. Her children dying from freezing at the Himalaya base camp or her being an Olympic gymnast…
I was actually looking for a certain passage in that miniseries with Pierce Brosnan, where he quotes a poem about a woman’s body. I remember he said it to the princess on a boat. Didn‘t found it yet and don‘t have the time this week. But on the weekend I am going to watch this whole series in English. I only watched it in German and I must say, my first impression is, that I prefer Brosnans voice in German. I was a bit disappointed. But maybe it’s just that I watched so many stuff with him in the dubbed German version, that it might take a weekend for my ears to maybe appreciate his original accent.
Interesting, that she described his character in Miranda as the „totty“ of the group. I never viewed his character like that at all. But I also assume, Miranda didn‘t mean his role being really 100 % tottiesk, but only partly. His character is not superficial and not only reduced to his good looks. Plus, she’s romantically in love with Gary and seeks more than just sex. I see where she is coming from, I guess. Or I totally misunderstand that term.
Ok, overheard that she even said, that he doesn‘t „just“ play that totty part, but that he also does play it. Oh well, that touching scene and that underwear scene, ok. But still, I don‘t see these scenes in any way as only objectionizing. Again, Miranda’s character is in love with Gary. Also on a personal note, no guy I ever had feelings for I only objectionized. Actually, I can‘t remember ever having a guy only objectionized. That’s why I never understood why so many women attend those Chippendale events. I find that disgusting and I totally fail to realize the fun part of such a show. But maybe that’s just me.
It’s interesting how he changed physically since trying to get into business in the USA. He was like a soft cushion during Miranda and ready for Bond since „Rush“ and still in the first season of Lucifer. During Miranda I didn‘t expect him having the potential as a possible Bond character (which neither is positive nor negative). But since I know him acting in Rush and in the first season of Lucifer, he ruined every new Bond character for me.
Luci in court praising Chloe, finalizing his compliments with this hilarious statement: „She is truly good. And I don‘t mean in bed. I wouldn‘t know. That‘s how good she is.“
And I love how the judge, who developed a crush for Luci, shushed the Goddess in the body of Charlotte Richards, to continue the joy of watching and listening to Lucis performance.
PS: Before this vocal scene, there was a rather theatrical performance without much audio, which somehow was fascinating without me being able to explain why. He was simply sexy in it. And funny. That was already enough for the director and cutter, lol.
I rewatched Miranda season 1, episode 1 last night two times. It’s so funny. When she runs in her bridal gown after Gary…or those hilarious fantasy stories she develops every time she meets Gary to impress him - God, I love her and her series. If I only could choose to take one tv show/movie with me on an island, it would be her series „Miranda“.
Lol@Miranda getting sold a „very feminine“ transvestite dress for her date with Gary, because the male seller obviously thought she is a man.
Stevie: Just be yourself.
Miranda: What an appalling piece of advice!
Season 1, episode 2. The way she fell on the floor in the school. Incredibly funny how she staged that. Best comedic fall I ever watched. It was such a sudden, fast snap of a fall, lol. I can‘t watch that often enough to not find her slapstick here hilariously funny anymore.
Or how insane her look into the camera is, after she detected an evening class for Tango and having Gary in mind. Even more so, when she convinced Gary to join her (after having had to threaten the gay waiter to not come with her, lol).
She fantasizing together with Stevie on the couch about the proper cooking lesson by Gary, rofl.
The best scene in the whole series - the blind date with that primitive former British Army doctor. Miranda unsuccessfully trying to get help from Gary and the waiter, who rather enjoy watching that hilarious fiasco unfold, is a blast.
Kimba the white Lion is the first tv show I remember watching. That’s why I named one of my cats after him, despite my cat is female. I loved the title melody. The world was save and sound as soon as that melody started (with German text of course).
From a time, the Japanese made the best animations. Not that Manga shit they only produce now.
I obviously missed that episode with this scene, in which Stevie asks Miranda how she sees both of her love interest, Gary and Michael. Both look similar and share very similar character traits. But of course Gary is larger and clearly the more handsome of those two. No wonder she sees him the way she does, lol. As a hot, wild Indian warrior, lol.
Someone stuck a Neil Gaiman book in the free little library. It’s called “American Gods.”
Did you snag it?
I did not.
