I’ve been on a Jon Batiste kick lately. Perhaps the most talented artist alive today. Probably the most diverse. His wife has had leukemia 3 times. He married a white woman. She had leukemia twice before they got married and got it again 2 years ago. There is a documentary called “American Symphony” about his life. I have not seen it but he seems like a nice guy. Or at least loyal. He knows he won’t have children with her and will probably have an excruciating next few years and still married.
You get a heart for this one. Enjoyed the piano solo. Here’s a really interesting review of the documentary.
I know nothing about the guy and listening to music on my laptop sucks but anyone who marries a woman with leukemia an stays loyal has my respect.
The first two aren’t my cup of tea. He sounds like a less talented version of Prince. The Instrumental piano piece is nice, though.
He reminds me of Prince as well. I think because of the diversity.
I’m back home. Short trip, just for my visa. I found this song along the way. I truly love it. It’s a satire about how white people perceive immigrants. She’s a normal brown girl just trying to live her life but constantly encounters people who think she’s there to deal drugs, steal money, get high, murder people and so on. So she mocks them. “All I want to do is [bang, bang, bang] take your money.” “Some I murder, some I let go.” Omg, I haven’t loved a song this much for a very long time. Tamil girl’s got game.
She was a true light in a world filled with darkness until the day she passed. Dolly Parton dead at 80, months after battling unknown health issue I Live Updates from Fox News Digital
She was a legend.
She had a great character as much as I know and was a good musician and songwriter. But I have to cringe when listening to her voice. I prefer listening to her songs performed by other artists.
That surprises me, considering some of the cringe worthy voices you listen to.
True, but that doesn’t make Dolly Parton any easier to listen to.
Nobody is making you listen to her.
And nobody’s making you read my posts about finding her voice irritating. Free speech, homie. ![]()
Yes, but homie, I’m not complaining about how difficult it is to read your posts.
Complain about what you want. I’ll complain about what I want. Works.
But I’m not complaining.
Why do you listen to her music
f you find it difficult to listen to?
I don’t. She’s very famous so I sometimes encounter it randomly. And a lot of people are playing it now that she’s dead. But no, I don’t care that Dolly, Bowie or Prince are dead. Or Michael Jackson. Or any of them. I shudder to think when Gunda’s favourites die. She’ll probably post 200 times.
