Just finished watching a documentation about Johnny Clegg. Very impressive. I always loved his „Scatterlings of Africa“ and „The Crossing“. Powerful rhythm, refrains and of course, this unique Zulu dance. Wished we would have trained that back in school than this silly and soulless aerobics, lol.

I didn‘t know, that the dancer he always teamed up with on stage and in the music videos, got fatally shot in a silly dispute, though. Very sad. Clegg wrote the song „The Crossing“ for him. Enchanting refrain.

The best musicians and singer/songwriters out there. Bruce Springsteen and Sting. The latter with ugly hair and ugly pullover. But man, his soft, yet sexy voice and accent… And then both singing one of the best songs by Springsteen - with that typical piano sound of the E-Street Band. I am soaring.:grinning:

I admit, these two look good together here. I think it’s the leather. He does wear it well.

Springsteen — just like Sting — still is in an admirably good shape for his age. Therefor he looks great no matter if he wears leather, jeans or a suit. God, he even can wear a bolo tie, lol.

I always liked folk and this is a great song.

Putting aside this typical American reverence to their allegedly „great“ country and doing everything for it, to which I could vomit, given to it‘s hegemonial and nationalistic attitude and contribution against peace and self-determination of other countries, Jon Stewart’s speech was hilariously funny. At least Springsteen is anything but a nationalist, which puts those references in a better light. But even Reagan misunderstood his „Born in the USA“, which makes me wonder, how many might misunderstand Stewart’s speech. Anyway, it’s a joy to listen and to watch. And I totally subscribe to Springsteen emptying his tank for his audience. I attended 5 concerts of him and it was breathtaking to watch him. No show. Just him working his ass off on stage. And that‘s btw. also what makes a man attractive to me or at least what I have huge respect for. Someone who empties his tank (to use that phrase) to stay integer and for the blessing of his family.

His music sounds like he’s emptying his bowels, too.

He certainly seems to bring out the scatalogical in you.

Lol :joy:

Springsteen‘s songs span nearly every music genre. I think only rap and techno is excluded (thankfully). I can find me in every of them some songs I like - and some of them I love even, like „Hunter Of Invisible Game“. And yet, as soon as the first notes of certain old songs get intonated, I become both calm and solemn (if not high, lol) to it’s epic music. Sometimes it‘s like looking into the star illuminated desert sky at night, or like standing at an empty beach at night. And when the wind or the sea starts rising, they take you on a powerful but protected journey through the universe. In that moment I get as spiritual as I can get.

This is another one of that category.

I didn’t realize pot-grunting music was a category but if so, he wins.

Our huge cellar got flooded due to a tiny leak in a window. Just finished getting rid of the water and drying up the floor as good as possible. Hopefully our landlords are insured.

I hope things end up ok for you, Gunda. You were wise not to marry, assuming you still haven’t.

:joy:

He even looks like he’s having a tricky bowel movement in that pic.

I finally have to agree. Pushing out a thick one. Maybe that’s what makes him sing. We don’t know.
