Back to the sound I always feel at home.

Do you still eat meat, Gunda? Do you never eat meat at restaurants or fast food places where the origin is unknown? I’m not asking if you “almost never” eat meat of unknown origin. I’m asking if you never eat meat of unknown origin.

For example I can’t resist the smell of a Bratwurstsemmel at Christmas markets and I get already hungry if I only think of it. This being said, contrary to you and Nico, I am for making organic meat production mandatory incl. imports. Oh and I am pro riding horses.

I also bet I have many clothes and tech made by terrible exploited people, likely also even children and hence financing the worst autocratic countries. Just like the car I am driving and the heating system of my rented apartment.

It would be good if you stopped assuming you know what I think, Gunda. You really have no idea what my opinions are. For your information, I am in favour of banning all meat consumption worldwide.

And before you ask, yes, I eat meat. As long as it is available, I am too weak to stop eating it. If it wasn’t available, I would adjust. So would everyone. And meat alternatives would become ubiquitous and would improve rapidly.

again you make silly asumptions; why would i have no problem with that? of course i always have the best interest of (living) animals on my mind

i think you are mistaken and that if you want less abuse of horses you should stop supporting horse riding and if you want less abuse of all animals that get slaughtered you should be in favour of making such 3 star label products cheaper and regular products more expensive…

lol iam all for that… but by doing it in a realistic way and not by raising the price of that meat because it has the opposite effect…

ditto, except i dont see it as a weakness, its called being realistic/practical; if you dont own the deck; you have to deal with and play with the cards that were given to you

This applied logic of yours regarding horses is the same as Reggies who rather wants to prohibit Pit Bulls (and I bet also all other big dog breeds if he would be honest) instead of setting the legal stakes higher to obtain, to keep and to train horses - as well as rising the punishments and consequences if people don’t abide.

To the animal product issue: High organic animal product can’t be as cheap as the non-organic produced products simply because it would never cover the costs. You need way more land and bigget stables, equippment, time and likely also personal or machines. I agree, that non-organic made products need at least to be more expensive than the organic made ones, but frankly, it should be prohibited because of the huge amount of abuse and caused pain there. This also btw. applies to breeding. Some cow and swine breeds can’t even proper walk anymore.

Ruhig Brauner. You once again jump to conclusions I never said. Or where did I say that non-organic food should cost less than organic food?

Because it is a weakness. Just like it’s weak of me to eat that Bratwurstsemmel. I could say no. But for this to happen I would have to stopp attending the Christmas Market with my friends and co-workers, as I know I can’t resist as soon as my nose sniffs the first smell of a roasted Bratwurst.

It’s different with tech and clothes. Yes here I agree with your wording as you don’t have the choice.

Well, then you should have said that already in our past conversations instead of saying something like that it’s sort of bad luck if an animal is born as livestock which happens to end on your plate as you enjoy it to eat. Or that you lashed out at me for advertising organic farming.

Or perhaps you might consider not stating my opinions for me. It’s really a better option.

I deal with what I get as an answer from you. If you don’t want to lay your cards open, then you better should stick to your usual poker play and stop talking.

not at all, i would even say your logic is much closer to regs logic; you both do not have the best interest of the animal as your priority

of course it can; all it takes is subsidy from the government

exactly

lol ok then what did you mean with this? :

yes you could say no and then what will happen to the bratwurst? it will be eaten by someone else… no change, no weakness, just waste

instead of a computer you can use pen and paper and chat via long distance, you can walk or ride a bike instead of a car or a horse, you can try and see if your employer will accept you working without clothes… there are always choices…

No issues on my side. You’ve been making a fool of yourself for the 26 years we’ve known each other. Why stop now?

Then why are you complaining? You call me a manhater and that I want to oppress men despite I never ever stated anything which would justify this. You keep on with interpreting me wrongly despite I corrected you, be it that rape and allegedly killing of this Palestinian prisoner by Israeli soldiers or that I sympasize with Breivik etc. These are lies you said and I bet you will keep saying them without being able to prove them with anything I ever stated.

But I am guilty, just because I allegedly misinterprete you regarding your position on women and animal products, despite your negative statements in the past, lol.

Well, then why not using the chance and wipe the slate clean: Say you don’t view women as subordinant beings which should have equal say in a partnership. And never again criticize me for advertising organic farming.

Sure, if we have this endless budget. But why not prohibiting the non-organic produce of animal products? Wouldn’t this be the better economical way? I don’t mind subsidizing it if this is the only way to achieve the best possible keeping conditions for animals. And I hope for the US companies who are leading the alternative meat production. We just need to find environmental friendly and sustainable substitutes of other animal products like milk and leather for example, before going the next step to prohibit meat production.

And then again to the rest of your post:

its just a matter of priorities…for example if you stop sending free weapons to ukraine to kill russians or if you stop spending money on military all together you could do a looooooooot of other good things as well

theoretically yes but not if you keep the price of organic products high, in reality people would just keep buying non-organic produce via less legal ways or make what trump claims a reality; they would start eating the pets

sure but we dont need to find that, we already have many ways… we choose not to because its easier/more profitable

Yeah, that‘s a matter of point of view. I consider the stop of sending weapons and I go even farer, the not switching over into war Modus for our Western societies and economies to significantly increase the productions for sending the needed munition and weapons to Ukraine ASAP, then the negative economical consequences for Europe will vastly worsen, Russias hunger for more land in Europe and influence incl. the Arctis and Africa, will increase and end successfully for them. And China will draw it‘s lesson from it. I congratulate you already now for destroying Europe and wish you a Happy 3rd World War.

Which ways do we already have?

the economy will not worsen when you dont spend money on violent nonsense, it will improve

what reasons (besides fear and because you were told) or indications do you have to think that putin would invade other countries?

i think acting out of fear is self-destructive behaviour; peace does not lead to wars or destruction, violence does

leather for example can be made from cactus, mushrooms or even pineapples
instead of animal milk you can use almonds, rice, soya… just ask uncle google there is too many to list

Yeah, the appeasement policy towards Hitler was so successful. :roll_eyes:Especially with countries profitating from it like Russia and Poland.

Plant based milk might be more environmentally friendly, but it seems it can‘t compete with the nutrition of diary. Plant-based milk — a greener, healthier dairy alternative? – DW – 10/16/2024
I didn‘t read up about leather, but this still seems to be a rather future substitute for the masses.

I love this song. Despite it‘s an old song, I only detected it due to canceling Amazon Prime and the reduced function of Alexa. Was easily worth the loss.
