Definitely. Europe should stop trading with the USA wherever possible. Your word is worth nothing. Deals with the US are broken at the whim of the Cheeto, so why make them?
You answered your own question. Russia is at the brink. Push them over the edge and they will go nuclear, and then the world is blasted back 100 years.
First, I don‘t bite into this fantasy nuclear response to a conventional supply of weapons, which shot weren’t fired by Western soldiers but Ukrainians. And second, the world can‘t have any interest to let a superpower use once again a war to achieve what they want. There are treaties also the Russians signed. We need to affirm to not tolerate such a huge breach of it. Cause this would open Pandora’s box again.
Further to my last post, I now feel it is important to start having the conversation about nuclear weapons in Europe. We are too weak in Canada right now to talk about that, but perhaps Europe is not. I’m not sure. It is absolutely needed, though, in this new world we’re living in.
no need to talk about it; france (and england) already have nukes of their own and belgium, germany, italy, the netherlands and turkey already have american nukes
England is no longer part of the EU and their economy is in such a shambles that I don’t trust them not to kiss US butt. Or any convenient butt, really.
The American nukes in the other countries are among those you may need to defend against. They should give you no comfort. They should terrify you.
Maybe. But that’s the point. Kyiv asked us to send weapons. And I understand them. I would do the same if I was an Ukrainian and believe into my army IF it has the weapons it needs.
I agree. That‘s why I - if I was king of Germany - would want to have my own nukes. I don‘t want to be dependent on anybody else. Problem: All The uranium needed is in the hands of the enemy, lol.
Regarding the nukes of France. I am pretty sure France would supply Canada with what they need if they have it. They have close ties to Quebec and therefore wouldn‘t say no.
We have the most uranium in the world, but we don’t produce much anymore because of reduced demand. Even so, we’re still the 2nd largest uranium producer in the world.
I didn’t know that. When there were talkings on tv about the pros and cons to keep the nuclear energy, I remember only Russia as the country named regarding as an uranium suppliar.
Today I heard that due to Trumps tariffs, Iceland is considering to join the EU.
Dont talk nukes to him. France withdrew form NATO most likely to be picked as the oen to retaliate with nuclear weapons as it being the only one officially with nuclear weapons.
It’s just lie you and you MC , you being the only with a gun chosen to retaliate with it.
Using a nuke against Russia will definitely make you a target . France would be the only NATO country to launch a nuke for NATO and would likely be the only NATO country hit by a nuke in response. Probably why they pulled out.
Russia is #6. Canada is the second-largest producer of uranium and could become #1 with increased demand by increasing production. Canada has some of the highest-grade uranium deposits and large mines. Production is primarily limited by demand.
Are you a Liberal party member I thought you voted NDP.? Voting PP but the polyglot that speaks like 8 languages is the best of the Liberal bunch I think. I suck at languages.
I voted NDP only once in my life federally, for Tom Mulcair when it looked like he might actually win. I just hated Harper and wanted him out so voting Mulcair was a strategic vote. I will never vote for Jagmeet for multiple reasons. I’ve voted NDP a few times provincially and I like Eby although I think he needs to get deficits under control. Horgan before him did and he was NDP.
I’m not a member of any political party. I will probably vote Liberal in the next election because I dislike Poilievre and Jagmeet. I don’t like Mark Carney at all and hope Chrystia Freeland wins, but I’ll accept Carney as the least of the evils. He is more palatable to me now that he’s renouncing his British and Irish citizenships.
I voted NDP in the Broadbent era hated the lies and scandals and corruption of Mulroney in the 1988 election. I voted for John Horgan glad his public funeral drew 5-6 times the crowd of the public funeral of bribe taking Mulroney who though it became front page news he took a cash bribe from German businessman Hans Schrieber who ended up doing 5 years in prison in Germany lying Mulroney was not even put on trial.
