Lawmakers already are not supporting the ten commandments. Many of them are pro capital punishment. Many of them have no problem killing a neighbor for walking to the wrong house. Enough of them cheat on their spouses. Many of them have no problem with having a rapist President. They are hypocrites.
Do you think infidelity should be punishable? It is as far as money can go, but I’m talking about prison time.
I think it is ridiculous to put murder and infidelity together in the commandments. No wonder so many ignore the 5th commandment. They have to read 5 more afterwards.
I would have thought the point of the ten commandments was to prevent these actions. Not punish for them. At least nowadays. If that’s not the case, then the ten commandments are useless since they are not used in law and order. They might be useful for the specific individual following them, but not as a society.
People that need these commandments to live by and cannot figure out which actions are moral or immoral, are immoral to me. I suppose if they lost their religion, they’d no longer go by some advice written on slabs thousands of years ago and have to use their heart. If they are unable to do that, that’s a dangerous person to me.
The Law of Moses could not do what it needed to do.
That’s why Christ died for us, to fulfill what the law and commandments couldn’t. It only succeeds in showing you you’re wrong but it doesn’t convict you inwardly.
Without them, you wouldn’t know the difference but for kicks and giggles. What do you consider immoral?
