I believe.
Why pray for forgiveness if God already knows before you pray if he’s going to forgive you?
Because Bible tells you to.
That is absolutely untrue. There is zero evidence that the never existed. The fact that there is eyewitness testimony of their existence rules out any chance that they never existed and if you think they never existed I challenge you to prove it.
Who says God is going to forgive me?
I didn’t say that, Michele. Quit dodging. Why pray for forgiveness if God already knows before you pray whether he’s going to forgive you or not?
Why pray for forgiveness if God already knows before you pray whether he’s going to forgive you or not?
Because I want to be forgiven? Why else would a person pray for forgiveness?
Michele, God knows right now everything that’s going to unfold for the rest of eternity. He knows whether you’re going to go to Heaven or Hell. He knows the future. He knows every sin you’ve ever committed and every sin you will commit in the future. He already knows if you’re going to Heaven or Hell. By Christian teachings, your prayer can’t influence it because it has already been decided. And if God was going to change his mind, he’d know that too, because, well, he knows the future.
His Word says He judges the deep things of the heart and that if His people will humble their heart and pray He will forgive them and restore their land. He does not judge according to what He already knows but according to what we do and the condition of our heart when we do it.
Is that why you don’t pray?
Yeah, that’s what I like. Silence. You ask a question and if I answer it wrong you are quick to correct me. I ask you a question and you are quick to ignore me. Run the other direction. I suppose my questions and comments are just stupid and yours are valid.
That is absolutely untrue.
it is true (or at least to sane people that recognise evidence)
The fact that there is eyewitness testimony of their existence rules out any chance that they never existed
no, as far as iam aware there are no eyewitness testimonies or records of a deborah, samson, saul or your god existing… but if you can provide the names of those people that saw them do please share
not that it matters much; eyewitness testimony would only be evidence of someone claiming that they existed; not of their actual existence…
(anyone can claim the invisible pink flying elephant exists)
if you think they never existed I challenge you to prove it.
normal behaviour is when someone makes a claim that something exists.. they provide evidence
(otherwise people would be trying to prove invisible pink flying elephants dont exist)
normal behaviour is when someone makes a claim that something exists.. they provide evidence
I didn’t make a claim that they existed. You complained that they didn’t exist and if you’re saying they don’t exist then you prove it.

lol this reminds me of the quote “the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence” :
i didnt complain and technically i didnt even made any claim they existed or not existed, i simply replied to greg that there is zero evidence of their existence, to which you replied that its untrue and that there is “eyewitness testimony” to which i replied that iam not aware of any eyewitness testimony (not that i consider that as real evidence) but for you to share the names of those people… which ofcourse you failed to do…
if you or anyone else wants to believe that your invisible pink flying elephants exist without any evidence thats your (delusional) business, i will not waste my time trying to prove or disprove your delusions
(should you find any non-imaginary evidence, please do share lol)
Reg be athiest corrupting nice catholic girl.
this reminds me of the quote “the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence” :
The burden of proof is on the accuser. Faith is my evidence.
Faith!
The burden of proof is on the accuser. Faith is my evidence.
Correct. The burden of proof lies with the person making the claim. In a criminal case, that’s the accuser. In religion, at least Christianity, it is the person claiming that a deity we call God oversees this universe, sent his son as both emissary and sacrifice, and decided that our killing his son somehow atoned for our alleged sins.
None of the rest of us is obligated to believe this dubious story without evidence. Faith may be sufficient for you, but it is not evidence that anyone else is obligated to accept. The burden of proof lies entirely with the person making the claim.
Nice statement of atheism you can of course change your mind in the future.
