Christianity

I can’t believe we didn’t have a Christianity thread. Anyway, now we do. I asked ChatGPT to list what we know about Hell from the Bible. It described the planet Earth today. Seriously. My comments are on the second line of each point.

  • Eternal fire - Matthew 25:41
    The Sun.

  • Outer darkness - Matthew 8:12
    Space.

  • Weeping and gnashing of teeth - Matthew 13:50
We live in a world where to survive, we have to kill others.

  • Separation from God - 2 Thessalonians 1:9
    I haven’t met the guy.

  • Unquenchable fire - Mark 9:43
    The human spirit.

  • Second death - Revelation 21:8
    Sleep.

  • Prepared for the devil and his angels - Matthew 25:41
Trump is President of the US, Putin of Russia, Xi of China.

  • Torment day and night forever - Revelation 20:10
    That describes most human lives.

  • No rest - Revelation 14:11
That also describes most human lives.

  • Conscious suffering - Luke 16:23-24
We live knowing that we become older, uglier, fatter, weaker and stupider with each moment.

i admit if you can listen to this its hard to deny lol

That made me chuckle, lol.

Me too.

I admit, that comment does sound stupider than your last.
Conscious suffering is full awareness of the consequences to sin. We have that awareness in this life so that we don’t suffer it eternally in the next, painful as it may be.

Nice to get the Lord’s Prayer in my email today from K-Love.

FYI, you will not have that excuse.

(Romans 1:18) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
(Romans 1:19) Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
(Romans 1:20) For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
(Romans 1:21) Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
(Romans 1:22) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

Always good to get a Bible quote. K Love sends me a Bible verse a day by email.

What’s your excuse, Ben?

Psalm 1:1 (NIV):
“Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers.”

And yet you support Trump.

Trump held a Bible upside down in public. He pays for whores and is a chronic liar and a convicted felon. He threatens wars against non belligerent nations he barely gives any of his wealth to charity. He is no way a Christian.

Amen to that. 100%.

He paid. For a service in past tense perhaps.

You stating he pays for it shouldn’t be insinuating he is paying money in exchange for services currently or recently or will again at a later time.

There are some things we all pay for , yet we don’t participate.
Think cancer for one.

Do you accept sex from prostitutes and then not pay for their work? Especially when it was unpleasant with corrupted flesh and spilling over onto others. They work not to lower a sex standard often times. Do you lower a standard? Do you think not paying for honest work after absolves you of sin or is just as sex was not accepted for money?

People have families to support and there is opportunity cost.

Sometimes you just need to raise the bar and standard. That solves things in some cases.

I’m not “too much”. You are. You know what of in the wrong substance and substitution.
Be ashamed of that. Why should I be?

You really shouldn’t try to quote scriptures when you don’t have a clue of their meanings, Reg. You’re just making a fool of yourself while looking like a blind man trying to feel color.

One of us looks like a fool, true. That’s because one of us is a fool, Ben.

I’m not sure that Reg believes in consequences after death or if he believes he has a spirit and a soul, He might think that he evolved from the Earth and is going back there, and perhaps God will give him his wish.

I don’t know, Ben. Neither do you. Neither does Michele. Neither do any of us.

imagine believing that trump becoming president again is a gift from a god…

2 Corinthians 11:13-15 (NIV)

For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.

Reg, some people think God created the universe and some people think nothing created the universe.

Which is the most foolish belief?

The Nothing People are driven to make fun of the God People, they say God doesn’t exist.

For them that might be true, but do you know what definitely doesn’t exist?

Nothing. That’s the defining characteristic of nothing is that it doesn’t exist.

SO what are we talking about, either you think creation is of God, something that you can’t see, touch, photograph, or prove by science.

Or you think creation began from nothing, something that you can’t see, touch, photograph, or prove by science.

But we should be able to agree that your nothing spontaneously erupts into everything.

That’s a pretty dam magical view you have there of Nothing!

You ask the Nothing People, what happens to you when you die? They’ll tell you nothing, they go back into nothing.

You ask them do they go back to their creator then, they say no, they go back to Nothing.

That sounds like your Heaven, Reg, nothing apart from God.
