This WCC was slow, long and mostly boring (with some very exciting points) but it went on long enough to become part of my routine. I feel a huge gap in my evening now that it’s over.

The way Gukesh won this wasn’t convincing at all. Two of his three wins were on Ding blunders. I don’t feel like I’m witnessing the emergence of a new truly great player of the ages. He’s young. Maybe he’ll prove me wrong. Right now, I’m not sure he’s in the top 5 players in the world.

I’m shocked at how he won. All Ding had to do was draw with white. I suppose based off how each played, that shouldn’t have been a shock. I got a notification on my phone and thought it was a joke.
I’ found it to be exciting. I found it unpredictable. I love blunders. Magnus crushing either of them would have been boring.
