Back when I was more interested in chess, I loved studying Botvinnik games. I still consider him to be hopelessly underrated. Chess was more beautiful then. Less memorizing, more winging it.
Ding kind of blew an advantage with white. A draw. If either Ding or Nepo played like this against Magnus last year, they both would have gotten crushed. I guess one did. Ding played the best match of the tournament, but down by 1 with only 3 games left with white. 4.5-3.5.

Lots of great moves and sloppy play this tournament. Nepo seems a bit bored with how slow Ding plays, but maybe he just needs to move around. He is extremely obese, so sitting in the same position for 3 plus hours is probably uncomfortable.
