chess.com does not organise offline tournaments, this is all the evidence they have
this could be the last news we hear about this
(unless hans niemann commits suicide)

If he commits suicude, can magnus show some proof?

I don’t believe this is true, although I don’t know their exact methods. I believe they do statistical analyses of the games, exactly as we saw Hikaru comment on. They don’t look for the mechanics of the cheating (which would be impossible to detect online), only the results. They see if players are performing at impossible-to-achieve computer levels, if they are deviating wildly from their normal play levels, if they are improving at unnatural rates, etc. These analyses can be applied just as well to in-person games as to online games, and I believe their wording implies they did such analyses on the in-person games and found nothing.

in our view there is a lack of concrete statistical evidence that he cheated in his game
with Magnus or in any other over-the-board (“OTB”)—i.e., in-person—games.

yes; their detailed otb analysis is in their report and yes in general they found no concrete evidence at all of cheating in his otb games (and even debunking the claims of other people of his many 100% otb games!)

they do state: "while we do not doubt that Hans is a talented player, we note that his results are statistically “extraordinary.”

Hans beat some 15 year old and it made the BBC. lol. He is looking very trans. I have not seen so much attention on chess since Deep Blue beat Kasparov.

they didnt find any anal beads… but will be interesting to see if any gms will refuse to play him

Why would he commit suicide? He confessed his sins and just won against Yoo. If Carlsen or chess.com has proof that he cheated to best Carlsen, he or they should expose Neimann. If not, Carlsen should go lick his wounds.

I didn’t read the entirety of the 72 page report but they were clear that he did not cheat in the match against Carlsen online. His game yesterday against Yoo was impressive. I enjoyed watching him redeem himself.
They should shine more light on the online chess cheaters since apparently there are many of them at GM level pointing fingers at Hans.

Anand is ranked #9 in the world.
At 52 years old.

Anand has a class and grace that none of the other active players can match. Actually, I can’t think of anyone from the past who could match it. Fischer was the most graceless but probably the greatest of all time. Kasparov was always petulant and moody like most Russians. Carlsen is pretty normal and sane for a WCC, but nobody calls him “classy”.

That is so wrong.

:us: championship going on now. Niemann is 12th out of 14. Not enough cheating.

what the heck?! lol

lol. Chess is fun lately. I hope Niemann cheats soon but he has the world watching him carefully so I doubt he will. Magnus played a goofy move two days ago and the Azerbaijani champion just resigned rather than be mocked.

I just played this. It’s simple but fun. White moves and mates in 3.

I got it. That would take some time off the clock for me in a live game to find.

Here we go…

some very strong wording in that lawsuit, will we see some counter lawsuits? lol

Taunting the cheater! Touching his piece should be cause for disqualification. At least he tried to fix the kings broken cross.

Isn’t that the way of the world these days? Everything is so backwards. Carlsen makes a junk opening and Manedov has to resign to keep from being mocked?
