I looked. The Model Y costs a lot more here, although we’re also getting the .9% interest deal. I’m going to wait. My car is working fine. A big client just paid me so we’ll go on another nice trip somewhere instead lol. I have still not given up on the idea of living without a car.
I saw that earlier today and shook my head. lol.
I thought someone edited the video, lol.
By the time it gets there we will be back on horse and buggy.
Creepy. Blood up to the horses bridle.
I fully expect we will see 2000 km (1300 mi) range battery electrics within 5 years.
Looks like they can’t compete with China.
lol. As satire goes, that was badly written.
BYD is building a massive plant in Mexico that will create 10000 jobs. If they can get past the tariffs with this move, it seems pretty smart on their end.
The only reason I don’t have a problem with the tariffs, is I would imagine without them, pretty much every car manufacturer in USA would go out of business. It might be too late, anyways. Morally, I don’t see why a now 100% tariff is ok on a car, but not on a phone, computer, refrigerator, or television.
If it is hopeless, they might as well loosen the tariffs. They have slave labor. With or without us.
I would hope the kid learned something about cars at least. We manufacture so little. Alabama schools are awful. I’m fine with the kid working, but 60 hours is a lot. My brain is done after about 50.
Just remember, if Trump gets elected, he has promised to tax cars made in Mexico by Chinese firms.
Yes. We just went to 100%. I’m guessing the next President will do that. BYD should make them in Russia. Trump would give a discount.
He would certainly make better deals for this country than Biden ever has.
I thought this President was doing that.

I believe this is part of the 2030 agenda.

Isa and I had a long talk last night. She is of the strong opinion we should give up the car. She says as long as we have a car, we won’t walk as much, and as we get older the only chance we have of maintaining our health for as long as possible is to force ourselves to walk. This is not stupid. I am open to it. It would be a huge lifestyle change, though.
I don’t understand that at all. I mean, I was under the impression that city life prevented you from having to drive much anyway.
Exactly, but we often drive anyway. The car is like crack. You know you shouldn’t use it but you do.
Yeah but yours is a VW. I bet it drives like an outdated quaalude.
