What do you look for buying used. I look at mileage and things like if it has brembo brakes I assume it’s been ridden hard.
You know what else? My car is huge. It’s 188.9 inches long. If I got rid of the CC and replaced it with a 124 Spider or a 370z, I would have room for this behind it in my parking stall.

Used is the way to go, imho, but don’t hold it against me if you get a lemon. Caveat emptor. That said, expecially with convertibles, you can get some super low mileage perfect condition convertibles, indistinguishable from new, for literally half price sometimes. I wouldn’t dream of buying new. You also won’t feel guilty if you decide to install a ham radio in it. ![]()
EDIT: Here’s an example. Converting it to American, this is $14,000 USD and it has about 27k miles.
You HAVE get the convertible and bike! For gods sake before it’s too late. And yeah, am seeing some remarkably low mileage cars for a low price. I agree. Used.
Looks like about 5K miles a year. That’s nothing. I still wanna get into the latest iteration of Mazda but there seem to be plenty of them out there. Do you think you would get screwed worse by a private seller or dealer?
You’ll pay more at a dealer but you have a better chance of them not lying to you. There’s risk with both. I would definitely only purchase if they agree to taking the car to an authorized Mazda dealer for a pre-purchase inspection. It’ll cost you a couple/few hundred but it’s well worth the price for a bit of peace of mind. I have purchased all my cars that way since I stopped buying new years ago.
If you happen to stumble upon a private seller that isn’t used to selling cars and just wants the effing thing gone, you might just get a steal. I wouldn’t wait for that to happen, though. Better to pay a bit more and get something while you can.
In my experience the perfect deal shows up the day after you close on the one you got. Sounds like a good plan. I might feel a little safer with a dealer.
I don’t understand a used 2019 mx-5 with 3K miles.
What do you mean? What’s not to understand?
They drove 3K miles and traded it. Why?
Happens all the time. Convertibles aren’t for everyone. Expensive experiment for them.
I think I’ve seen the cars in Orlando. Will check Tampa. Oh, Holly has a friend that works at CarMax.
I usually associate a Holley with carburetors
Will likes his cars to last at least 26 years. I would 100% go with the miata over fiat or nissan. Nissan is going down the shitter. Think they just merged with Peugeot. Sales were down like 80%. If you ever need to take your car to a dealer, mazda would be much easier than nissan or fiat. They probably won’t exist for much longer. Mazda has a plant with toyota in Alabama. Seems like they will be around a while.
If I was getting a fun toy, I would get a miata. I agree on not getting a turbo charge too.
Fiat merged with Peugeot, not Nissan. Peugeot doesn’t sell in the US or Canada I don’t believe. Fiat might follow suit soon. I believe Nissan will be stable but we’ll see. Nissan fans (usually of their sports cars, the Z and the GTR) tend to be a bit fanatical, but sports cars just aren’t selling these days.

Lol.
That’s right. Fiat is with Peugeot and Chrysler.
Now, in the cold hard light of day, I have come to my senses about buying a convertible. I don’t have that many years left and don’t want a 5 year payment plan when I could spend the money on booze and pot.
Maybe upgrade my sound system and install cameras. I definitely want front and rear cameras in the truck.
pimping your truck lol nice
