Cars

Driven the three wheeler? No. I’ve driven many convertibles but not the Fiat. I drove an older-generation Miata years ago and loved it.

Will take a spin tomorrow. I want the base sport option in red. Red adds to the price but I don’t want a white sports car. I might have to crawl out on my hands and knees but i think the drive would be worth it. My last hurrah. lol

I just want the engine. NO bells a whistles.

I just looked at the options. The mid version adds a ridiculous stereo (which is just an absurd idea on a convertible) and the top version adds bigger wheels and a cloth liner. Who cares about any of that stuff, except possibly the wheels? I would take the base version, too.

I bet the weekend racers would agree. Plus I really like the idea of the community. Would be good for me to socialize.

Plus I don’t think it’s an outrageous price.

No, these cars are relatively cheap.

Just one thought. You might also want to consider Nissan Z cars. Those have an even longer history than the Miata, no turbos, and I personally think they look amazingly good. Several good choices in this sector. You can’t really go wrong, except possibly with Fiat. lol.

That’s a thought. I love the Z cars. Will have to compare.

Whoa Z just went away. Higher price. I’m sure it’s worth the price but. . .trying to sell Angie. She says I’ll feel better in the morning.

Yes, understood. The Miata is a great choice. Angie might also enjoy the gatherings. Florida would be a great place to own a convertible, too. Maybe not in the heat of summer but that’s only a few months.

An hours drive away are wooded rolling hills. There are good places to drive.

Angie thinks I’m having some sort of delayed midlife crisis. “Whadda ya wanna do? Go driving through some cornfield with the wind in yer hair”? lol

From some old Star Trek movie: The introduction of James T. Kirk.

I dunno. She may be right. I just miss excitement and fun in my life. I’m becoming a fucking turnip.

I don’t drive fast and I generally obey traffic laws. I’ve owned several convertibles over the years and loved every one of them. You can have a lot of fun in a convertible without driving fast or breaking traffic laws.

By the way, I haven’t had one for about 6 years now and I miss it. I just need to decide if the correct way forward for me is to trade in the CC on a convertible, keep the CC only, buy a convertible in addition to the CC, or go with no car (which is the healthiest and perhaps most logical choice).

I’d almost certainly buy used. The cash savings is huge and I’d want to install a few mobile radios. Literally two or three of them, complete with antennas. I’d also want to install a dash cam and anything else I felt like installing. I have hangups about drilling holes in new cars.

I was just getting ready to ask you about buying used. Some good deals out their. I’m fairly handy and think I could keep it up. What’s a CC?

My VW.
