Ummm we are? I thought the Bible commands us to be in the world and not of it?
What does the Bible say?
John 17:14-16 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.
John 15:19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.
Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
If you have Disney Plus, I encourage you to watch both of his Biblical exploration episodes. I found them to be quite fascinating. Especially how in western culture we view east and west directions the same, but north and south are inverted in an anceint egyption text.
Then there’s the testamony from a British officer about how the waters get blown back for hours, before coming back in.
Try not to be offended. He can’t help it. He wouldn’t eat sushi in Oregon either, which is probably a blessing for the locals. Judging from his last meal, he’s a bit of a sushi glutton.
