Michele, I’m honestly not understanding you. From what I can see, you clearly did say it. You then repeat it here from what I can see.
Once again, the size of government is not related to the level of corruption in that government. Canada’s health system has vastly less corruption than the US system. I know, I’ve worked in both. It is also vastly bigger government with very little private enterprise. Canada pays half what Americans pay for health care and we get more, and our outcomes are the same or better. Big government often just works.
I see no relationship between the size of government and the amount of corruption in that government. African tin pot dictators often have the smallest governments but they are still among the most corrupt.
Let’s try again, Reg.
Without factoring in all that you have stated and that I acknowledge as a truth, why would you want more unnecessary committees, councils, research groups and whatever else they are wasting your hard-earned money on?
Do you like unnecessary regulations?
Do they not appoint a committee to study something and another to pass a law to regulate and tax it later.
So do we not waste our money on a committee to study every thing and then lose control through regulations and money through taxing it?
No, and I don’t think big government leads to those either. Big government to me simply means higher taxes and more government services and programs. There is nothing at all to cause a government that takes in more tax dollars to be corrupt or to create unnecessary regulations. The US has the smallest government per capita in the western world and yet you have perhaps the most silly regulations.
Definition of big government . chiefly US. : government that is regarded as infringing upon the rights of individual citizens because of its extensive bureaucracy and intrusive regulations and policies.
By that definition, Canada has relatively small government. We have higher taxes than the US but, as far as I can see, less regulation and bureaucracy.
Interestingly, by that definition, the capitalist US medical system is big government (it is incredibly complex, bureaucratic and intrusive) while the totally socialist/communist Canadian system is not (it is streamlined and quite efficient).
Your comment is a stark reminder that we are just a regulated step from moving away from a capitalist/socialist government to a socialist/communist society.
Vote Trump 2020 or move closer to communism. That is exactly how I see it.
We’ve had the current level of socialism for about 70 years. Our economy is strong and we have almost no poverty. We also have far less debt than the US. I know it’s Republican doctrine to say socialism isn’t sustainable but that is totally refuted by the facts.
I have had good luck with HP AIOs but that was many years ago. I really doubt you can go wrong if you buy brand name from BestBuy. Definitely wait for sales if you’re not in a hurry. There are some amazing deals there. Prices are often much lower than I could buy wholesale when I was in the tech business.
