Today’s random church pic.
I don’t pray but while in that church I thought to myself, God, in the extremely unlikely event that you exist, please bring peace to Gunda. Amen.
Maybe that is a prayer now that I think about it.
LOLOLOLOLOLOL OH Lord. LOLOLOLOLOLOL
I’m sorry, Reg. That’s was really the best and most truthful comment you have ever made. Congratulation on being honest with yourself and really, to all of us. It was quite entertaining and I wish you could do it again.
I’m literally still wiping tears from my eyes.
Michele, professing yourself wise, you come across like a fool. I say this with no malice. You’ve just been unusually pompous lately. Anyway, I am not going to let your self-importance ruin my day. Here is another random church pic. Same church but from the outside. I really like it there.
It just kills you when you know I’m enjoying myself too much, doesn’t it. We should be married because this is exactly how my hubby acts when he is at work and he finds out I’m enjoying some event without him.
Enjoy the rest of your miserable day.
Beautiful church.
I wonder if I’d like the sermons better in Spanish.
It’s Catholic so no sermons. They do this long and repetitive chant they call the rosary. I don’t know what it means but it’s boring. I usually just sit there when nothing is going on and enjoy the peaceful vibe of the place.
It certainly is a beautiful building.
Catholics also rarely talk about the bible. I wonder how they know what to sing about.
Well, there’s a bit of a story there. The church is in a vibrant park in a barrio called Bello (pronounced Bay-Joe), which is perhaps the most dangerous place in all of Medellin, totally ruled by drug gangs. The cops recently killed one of the rival gang’s leaders so there’s a turf war going on now and the gangs are busy killing each other. Colombians don’t care and neither do I. In fact, I wish them godspeed in killing each other off. Kids play in the park and old men play chess and pass the time. Street vendors sell everything from fresh fruit to pirated movies. I bought some carrot cake from an Indian-looking woman today and it might’ve been the best I’ve ever tasted. The good people of Bello have no money but they have pride and they won’t let the drug gangs stop them from living.
Did the cake have nuts in it?
Not that I remember tasting.
This is my favourite
Today’s random church pic comes from the tiny pueblo of Sabaneta. I had nothing to do so, on a lark, I decided to go there. Here are a few photos I took. The album cover isn’t the church, it’s the library. If you click on it, you will see all the photos I took in Sabaneta.
And here’s the church in Sabaneta. It’s not as ornate as a city church, but it has a wonderful small town dignity that I prefer to gold leaf pillars.
Age is just a number. And prison is just a place
Funny, that I should be the one who isn‘t at peace, while you still feel the need to keep up your lies and add new ones too. You even feel the need to bitch about songs I post. But for someone, who double standardly labeled others as minor league pedos while you dragged Ferni away from her parents for exact the very same reason like the scum you criticize - I don‘t expect anything less. Now pray your Visa marriage won‘t leave you and thank God, for that you finally understood the meaning of marriage and yet viewing your partner as subordinant. You didn‘t understand nothing at all my friend. All you understood is, that you are sick and old.
True! But I am at peace. And my marriage is healing. We are spending every day dating like we are kids again. It’s nice. And your desperate attempts to turn my friendship with Ferni into something ugly will fail. We will be friends until the day I die. And I continue to hope you will find peace, Gunda. Life is too short to live it with such bitterness.
Oh I don‘t doubt that. I bet that your expat pedo friend will say the same about his girlfriend and his girlfriend will defend herself selling her body to him just as firm. So, simply keep on lying to yourself and live happily forever in your heavily twisted world. Cheers, lol.
Reading all of the above, just reminds me why I gave things a break, and nothing much has changed.
Gunda, girl move on, find a life and stop rehashing old shit that does not matter and was never your business. You miss the grey areas in life, judging in black and white, I doubt you will ever find peace or lose that bitter edge.
Michelle … reminds me what I dislike most about US culture and attitudes.
Will and Dan remind me what I like most, (when Will puts his gun away, that is
).
