I just got a new power cage for my gym, moved stuff around and took out a couple other machines to reduce the clutter. I’m loving the new set up!

Damn nice set up and even a neck harness on the cables, no need for a loading pin.
Speaking about necks. Mine is having so much pressure built up from behind it feels like it is trying to severe my own cervical vertebrae.
I happen to have a kick-name, the Posture Nazi, and I can tell you that about 99% of the time neck problems are associated with called Upper Cross Syndrome (AKA Computer Neck) and is related to muscular imbalances. There are lots of videos to help with this and correcting your postural stability/proper stretching of tight muscles and strengthening weak muscles along developing new habits can work wonders…
I have 2 of those neck pillows. That’s the cause of pain I think. Also the headaches as they are like chokes that caught off blood supply.
The pillows sounds like your treatment of symptoms, my point is you need to treat the cause.
It’s gone away now. It was from over tensing during shrugs and shoulder work.
One thing I normally neglected that helps a lot is constant warming up and stretching of the shoulders when doing compound movements that involve the shoulder like chest pressing. I bought these bands because they were cheap $4.98. 3 bands light, medium, heavy. They are just like a rubber/latex scarf and not a loop. I just grab them with both hands and maybe twist it around my fist and back and forth at every angle. I pull with back with the band in front, and forward with the band behind my back.
It makes such a difference. I was constantly working out with a very sharp pain almost like a cleaver stuck in each shoulder. This really helped with that. The loop band might be better to pull the arms up high behind with forearms perpendicular to upper arms. I have seen people do an exercise pulling the arm out front he body like you would desocket an action figure with the band around the frame of a machine or rack. I suppose I could tie a knot.
A portion of proceeds go to the Army/
I suppose I could do neck therapy too.
I added a few more sets to my leg workout(squats, side lunges and lunge) and some leg extensions I do from the floor or from a chair. My legs are improving especially with bone mass. The bones are growing. Bones can still grow thicker even when they ends have capped off, but I can feel the ends getting spongy again especially in the hips. I’m going to stick with my leg program with no weights for another 2 months maybe as it is working quite well. The legs are feeling almost ready to deploy for powerful running and jumping. I would like to to run, but this has to come first. Maybe in two months I can do away with a lot of the exercises for some kettlebell squats just focusing on the hips and knees.
Bone is supposedly 5 times stronger than steel per weight, but brittle so it shatters and breaks easier from impact. It is amazing like it has its own force field.
Reg watch this. Just keep looking to the 2 digits tot he left for your 70-80 kilos and maybe you’ll understand. Don’t worry about what goes on when you blink.
The “magic” properties of bone, and scientific ones too.
Bones again being compared to steel in superiority.
Steel must be something different to people than what I hold or touch. I wouldn’t put that faith in human bones.
Reg, have you ever seen this billboard? Could you pose x-ray nude and dance like this as well as take those kind of impacts? Do you think those people have frames like that? Notice the shock when the car impact happens and they realize in disappointment “hey, that’s not me!”
I like the statement about steel it makes me feel better about myself.
I did an hour of yoga this morning. It was quite painful. I did not end up getting swabbed. My cat sneezed and I thought I gave her a virus. I guess I’m getting paranoid.
I got a $0.03 raise at work yesterday. It was an odd conversation. Looking back, I felt like I was being pranked. I did the math and it is $62.40 per year before taxes. Or probably around $37.
Go buy something for 37 dollars to help with your yoga. Maybe a spicy dish that your body can use like clay at a higher temperature. That and/or something to smear on your body to help your yoga. A balm, liniment, or some spray skin lubrication or a jar of something. It probably hurts because of radiation penetrating from the skin in.
I bought and downloaded several yoga/stretching/flexibility books. Each one has a different sequences and exercises. Right now the stretch book I’m using for my stretching has stretching from standing, lunging, standing on knees(never thought of it that way) and more. Getting best results from it.
Lot more stuff to stretch for me now, but not so much after I stretch. Have to let it tighten up a bit.
Buy a cartilage and joint supplement. They do work, but you have to really use the joints hard.
It whatever. You know what I did do this year was dramatically increase my punching power. And that was without using a bag or pads.
Now I want to be able to box well with mass so I am working on a new stance, guard, style. Keeping the fists at armpit level and out to the sides of the chest. Throwing the punches with palms perpendicular to the floor(knuckles vertical) and using a cross block.
Totally removed the front lunge and back lunge from my training. Now I just started doing more squats with a 10 pound kettlebell. I still do the side lunges and I come up much more bouncier, not that I try to bounce and the same with squats. The lunge was good but I could feel the failure and collapse, I’m sure it will be good again, but something extra added to the movement needs to go.
No more clamshell openers/closers either. I still do some hip movements for warm up standing. Stiff legged deadlifts, form is improving, and really keeping everything tight and stable on the goblet squats, hips, knees, ankles etc.
People can get really over demanding with their fitness. Especially when in denial that they have zero fitness.
I would be tempted to tell 'em to keep their 3 cents.
