The nicest change is that I moved 8 machines into an 16’ x 24’ L-shape with a shelf above and pegboard and doweled storage boards above that. I had to get 1/4" dried lacquer off the floor in one area that took 2 days including using a floor sander to refresh the concrete floor. I also had to pull down drywall and run new electrical. Huge difference!
No, Mark, no crutches. I do have a couple of canes I bought after my foot surgery last year. They’re in storage. I am walking better than I ever have lately. I’m now 55 and I think it’s incredibly important to stay trim and in decent shape. I’m no athlete but I don’t need to be. I just need to not get fat and keep my blood sugar under control and not poison myself with any vices, including alcohol. I will get old and die in time but I’m not planning to go easily.
kkk has weak vision.
That’s not the only exploitable vulnerability I found. When I say something is weak I mean it is to the point that they cannot complete a task without assistance. Meaning they can’t be credited for all their work nor do they have defendable rights to it.
Let me make an example.
For whatever reason you side with Michele or Will here, it makes you an exploitable vulnerability to me.
When you try to dig up news stories or pressure systems to test your luck it causes a troubling failure.
Make your choices about who you decide to offend.
Somebody needs to explain to this fool that I don’t owe my entire history, ancestry, or existence to him.
There are a few woods classified as iron woods. Has anyone worked with iron woods?
I’m going to make some shelves in my garage. 8 feet high. 2 feet deep. Either 6 or 8 feet wide. Certainly 8 feet would be easier.
Should I use OSB? It is very ugly but seems recommended for garage shelves. I was not going to use pressure treated because I have no humidity in my garage.
Personally I would use plywood 3/4". But that’s just me.
I generally hate any kind of OSB or particleboard. I don’t like the looks, it’s hard on blades and good luck taking it apart and reassembling. I did use a manufactured wooden beam when I put a balcony on my second floor over the entry way.
I’ll let you know how it goes will be a few weeks.
I’m a little too busy this week. I’m working this weekend, so I have thursday off. I’m helping someone move and he is giving me that cedar table he made. Which was not that heavy since the top is made of 1x4s and the weight is distributed well. I think it could have gone in a pick up truck without a ramp but oh well. I got a truck so we can do refrigerator and a bed. Then I’m going to pick up a used treadmill. Then I’m taking the furniture out of my wife’s classroom because they are only having 10 students a day so have to spread the tables out. I hope I can do this and return the truck in 11 hours. Then I’m working 6 to 230 on Friday. When I get home I need to prepare my lawn to plant zebra trees. I’m driving Monday 90 minute each way and my aunt is digging them up for me to plant at home. I’m working 3 am to 530 pm on Saturday and sunday. We have company staying over tomorrow night. That should be low key.
I’m really looking forward to next Tuesday. It’s just a normal day of working 7 to 330.
And I’m a horrible gardener even though I like it. I like being in the soil. I don’t like spending 80 dollars on grass seed that does nothing.
Holy Backbreaker Batman! Hope you get a truck with a lift gate. I started to say I wish I was young again but I thought about it and . . no.
I’d use 3/4" MDF/Medite, it is perfect for shelves. You can prime it and paint it or in a garage even leave it as is. I just put up some 16" deep selves in my shop with L-brackets for lumber storage, it was inexpensive, strong and quick. I round the edges with my router.
Here is a comparison of the two.

I was considering painting the shelves. Thanks.
I have a lot of old scrap wood. Several long 2x4s some are nailed together from old projects. Also plywood. I want to do would work. I can do woodwork separating the pieces with a hammer and a wrecking bar I can use lots of force with and picking up the wood that will be satisfying. Also the wood must be cut down. I have access to saws. I have an old circular saw that does not cut well and is not reliable. I have a jigsaw I could use for the plywood and a reciprocating saw. I don’t know if I will use those at all just for sake of using them. I have hand saws both short and long I can perfect technique with. Some are perfect for large ripping cuts. Also have a hatchet and hand axe which are really not good for demolition work. Maybe I could buy a larger heavier splitting type axe just to make the job faster. I have no trees I can cut down or wood logs to split so I don’t think the spending is justified just to use it.
I have used heavy iron bar before for tile and concrete destruction. My father is master with iron bar and wrecking bar for destruction and I can fuse with those tools at times and be very dense while easily slamming with smooth back and forth motions. I think I will just grip the hammers I have both wood handle and metal with rubber very tightly and powerfully and smash and pry the scrap and use threes different crow bar/ wrecking bar cane type rat tail and flat to get good experience variation.
Then I will opt for hand saw and try to work on alignment and cutting strike and avoid blade binding
No others on this earth can grip tools like me or my father. All other work has to be done off to the side. It’s orc pride.
I want to use heavy Iron bar to be dense and feel good with smooth and long range of motion repetitively.
If you’re using L-brackets and just lay your shelves on them before screwing them down you can use a roller to paint one side and when dry flip them and paint the other side for an easy way to get them painted.
Thursday was the worst of this 5 day stretch. Another 14 hour day tomorrow and gardening on Monday but fatigue is easier than stress. I drove that uhaul in some pretty bad rain. I could never be a truck driver. I think the government should pay for their prostitutes.
