Julie! Good to see you here. I just got vaccinated and was wiped last night but I’m feeling ok this morning. I’m back in Vancouver these days after a year stranded in Medellín. We made it back in December and have been living downtown since then. I had some damage to my condo while I was gone so that’s being repaired and I should be back home in about 2 months. These days I’m just trying to figure out how to live in a post-covid world where travel can disappear overnight. My previous thoughts of always just jumping a plane back to Canada if things got bad are no longer valid and I’m still wrapping my mind around what my life should look like these days. I still hope to spend half the year in Colombia and am thinking of ways to make that happen, and prepare for being stranded in either location if governments decide to take travel away from us again.
How about you, @jules1 ? How are things on your end? Still in Aus I assume. In Sydney?
Daniel! Good to see you here! Still worried about the state of the world, I see. Well, me too, actually. I’m feeling much better now that Bill Gates is controlling my mind using 5G after that vaccine. Relaxing.
I am pretty confused after WWOOFing with a doomsday crowd.
We ain’t seen nothing yet. Trials are coming for me, I can feel it in every nerve of my body. I already slept in a bunk bed with extremists lately. I am not used to that kind of shit. The only occasion when I “enjoy” company that close is with a woman!! Being forced to sleep with people more on the fringe than myself always gives me the creeps. But hey - accomplishment - I overcame - for now. I am done right now. Sweating and farting like mad.

Daniel, I love my life as it is. The world is ugly lately with these stupid masks and the vaccine made us nauseous for a few hours but we’re fine and the city is beautiful and full of people enjoying their lives (generally mask-free). I am trying to buy an office in downtown Vancouver which is keeping me busy. Covid really isn’t affecting me other than making me wear a mask every time I enter a store and stopping me from dining inside. I’m not saying that’s nothing. I admit, I hate those things, but it’s not a disaster for me. Life is pretty good. I intend to enjoy the next 15-20 years and then die.

My hospital just administered its 50000th vaccine. I don’t think anyone has been hospitalized because of it. I had a physical today.

All labs good except for cholesterol was 198. The highest ever. Only physical activity for the last year has been yoga.
It looks like there is going to be a chicken shortage in USA. Apparently, too many people have been eating fried chicken as a coping mechanism during the pandemic.

They make ridiculous behavioral demands but consistently fail to remind the public that hand washing is the best line of defense against the virus.
I’m ok with social distancing. I actually prefer it. If I’m lining up at a store, what is the possible advantage of standing within a meter of me? Let others give me some space, I’ll give others some space, and the world will be better off.
Masks need to go but the time is not right yet. Mask outdoors for the vaccinated are silly. You’re 90% less likely to get COVID outdoors, and you’re 90% less likely to get it if you’re vaccinated. By my calculations, that means you are 99% less likely to catch it and effectively 100% less likely to die.
I still don’t believe that Nico hasn’t worn a mask yet. He is obviously lying.

I am not lying about being fine with social distancing.
I suppose my calculations on probability could be wrong but I don’t think they are and that wouldn’t be a lie, anyway. It would just be a mistake.
