That’s the one to get if you have a choice. I used to think Pfizer but there are some questions about the supply chain maintaining the necessary temperatures for that one. I’d take either one but if I had a choice I’d take Moderna.

The German government has come out against special privileges for those vaccinated. This is stupid. Of course those vaccinated should be exempted from most restrictions. Let the unvaccinated wear masks and be banned from public transport and perhaps be held in comfortable concentration camps for their own security. And no, I’m not being sarcastic. It’s everyone’s right to refuse a vaccine. It’s everyone else’s right to demand protection from those lunatics.

Once there is enough vaccine for everyone do you think they will remove restrictions? We won’t be able to get herd immunity in usa because of all the antivaxxers but we could let the 3rd of the folks unwilling to get the vaccine to just deal with each other. They’d probably want the restrictions removed. You can’t really be antivax and pro restrictions. Although there are some of those people.
I’m not personally scared at all. The average age of death from COVID is 82. The average age of death in general in the USA is 78. This means most COVID deaths happen in borrowed time anyway. The overwhelming majority of healthy, self-sufficient individuals will not experience anything worse than bad flu-like symptoms.
The fact is, however, that society is scared. We’ve shut down the world. Destroyed our economies. Bankrupted countless businesses. Thrown perhaps a quarter of the world behind in their rent/mortgage. Thrown 60 million productive and self sufficient people into abject poverty (defined as under $1.80 USD per day). Almost none of this was necessary but people were scared so they did it. And that fear continues unabated as do their drastic overreactions.
Given this, if you don’t want to take a vaccine to help others get past the psychological difficulties they are having overcoming this issue, I have no trouble with the idea of reopening Dachau and throwing you in it. Have a nice day.

So little of what we’ve done is based on a rational review of the evidence so I don’t predict anything regarding what we will actually do. What we should do is clear: create a vaccine passport and remove restrictions on anyone who can show a full (both doses) covid vaccine. To me, that’s just total common sense. Those people don’t have the disease and therefore presumably can’t spread the disease. Let them live their lives. Screw everyone else.

I agree. I’m guessing 70% is pro vaccine. Of course I’m in new England so it is probably higher here.

ah yes everyone should all turn their brains off, get on their knees and obey, pray, presume, hate and destroy all those that oppose, hope and blindly accept that those vaccines will be the magic cure to fix all the problems we create ourselves…
if there is no immediate success we will simply create a new magic vaccine 2.0 and combine this with more restrictions and stricter lockdowns that will surely help…
ok maybe the vaccine after that will be a bit more expensive but if we all buy and use that one it will do the trick, or maybe the next one will definitely help and be the greatest if we add immunity passports and a new law where anti vaxxers will need to get a tattoo on their forehead and sit in the back of busses, ok maybe not but the new vaccine after that where we use ankle bracelets, cutting off hands and +25% anti vaxxers tax will do the trick or the new and improved vaccine 36.0 will be the true one if we also euthanise the anti vaxxers or maybe the one after that?
by then the virus will have mutated several times and it might appear that it dissolved itself on its own but we all know the real and only greatest one truth that it was surely our holy vaccine and we will rejoice and praise the ones that enlightened us, those that became very rich by selling us the cure and we will worship and congratulate our governments for enslaving us because they are the only ones that truly saved the world! It just occurred to me, they will color coat hospitals, where the sick and dying are, red. That’s what makes their brilliant ideas so bad. Unless that is color coated yellow, I wouldn’t support such a system for restrictions.
Nico, quit being a drama queen. The virus will mutate just as the flu does every year. A new vaccine will be formulated each year to battle the new strain, just like with flu. Crazy people will refuse to take both vaccines and should be isolated and denied some privileges. Simple. I admit it might be a good idea to exempt the Dutch and let them go unvaccinated.

i think it might be a bit more frequent than once each year even if its only to keep people at a certain fear level and to prove that corona is way more serious than the flu
either way you should hope and pray harder with each new attempt and blame and hate the anti vaxers more and more for the vaccine not being successful!
so far so good, we are the only country in the european union that hasnt started vaccinating yet lol but unfortunately this will most likely change around january 8
