I’m doing much better, thanks. I was reminded what a pain in the ass it is to get drugs here. Why does anyone need a prescription for gout drugs? Colchicine is not a fun drug. It doesn’t get you high and it makes you poop a lot. It also cures your gout. Why should I need to talk to a doctor before taking it? Nobody sane would ever buy it unless they have gout, and if they do they should buy it and take it. It’s just a stupid waste of time and system resources to make me go see a doctor first.

What is wrong with you? Why do you keep having these issues? Aren’t you eating right?

It’s set up that way so the dr. gets a few bucks for an office visit. When I was in the Philippines I could walk into any pharmacy and by medical speed without a prescription to stay awake on the midwatch. I think Mexico is the same way.

Everywhere is the same way except the western world. In Colombia I phone any pharmacy and my drugs are at my door in a half hour generally. No doctors involved.

I have gout. Colchicine cures it. My doctor has suggested I take yet another daily drug to keep my uric acid levels low and prevent gout permanently. I am likely to do it, but I dislike having yet another daily drug.

How many drugs do they have you on?

Not many. I take an antihypertension med for my blood pressure. Jardiance for my diabetes. I’m off insulin, generally, although I take it much more in Canada than I did in Colombia. I do take a bunch of over-the-counter vitamins and supplements including a low-dose aspirin for my heart, but that’s a choice and it changes now and then.

Man-made Colchicine is not the only anti-inflammatory. I’m assuming you have sought out a second opinion?

To Reg:

I got a message last night on BBAD. It looked like one of those auto-generated things where only two people are posting and it encourages you to let other people post. This one was different. It had to do with the tone of the thread and how it wasn’t good. I wish I had saved it. A computer cannot judge the tone of a conversation. Who is watching our posts?

I searched for any such warning in the admin settings and couldn’t see it. Do you remember the exact wording?

No. I wish I had saved it some how. There is no mistaking what I saw though. The implication is that someone is monitoring this site.

I doubt the message came from anyone sophisticated enough to monitor the site at a deep level. It’s very likely just part of the forum software.

That said, you saw the Citizenfour documentary. They are watching everything.

I suppose it could have been triggered by some of my more intemperant language. That said I did indeed see Citizenfour. I don’t think they are big into moderating manners though.

Here is a little sample to test my theory. Fuck you Reg! Fuck you all! Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you! This has been a test.

Pure science right there.

I pride myself on my methods.

I have to do another update tonight. Google doesn’t like the category schema that Dicourse uses and since Google tells me how many users we get, I’d like to keep them happy. Anyway, this one could be bad. I’ll back up before I start but I’m just warning everyone in case the site is down for some time.

What time. Hopefully very late.

I’ve been passing out around midnight so I’ll probably start around 10pm Eastern which will leave me some time if things go bad. I’m not really expecting things to go bad but this is a bigger update than usual. At least 30 min down.

Fair enough. Hoping for the best.
