My relatives fought, just like all Germans, incl. the relatives of Germans migrated to the U.S., Canada etc. They all thought we were right out of several reasons. Same like the Russian soldiers who are attacking Ukraine. Or US soldiers in their wars against Irak, Vietnam, Cuba, etc.
My family had a variety of ppl in uniform in WW2 though none saw combat. One was in transit by ship to England became very ill and by the time he was better Germany had surrendered unconditionally. One was a military policeman in Shiloh, Manitoba.
