I think you’re safe posting here. If the German police contacted me for identifying information, I would tell them to go fly a kite. Then they would have to contact the Canadian police to force me to comply, and since insulting isn’t a crime in Canada, the Canadian police should refuse. Obviously that’s just my layman’s understanding of the law, but I am reasonably sure I can’t be compelled to identify anyone.
