I appreciate your thoughts. Other than appointing justices and creating different rates in tax brackets, Trump accomplished very little his first 2 years, despite controlling almost everything. Hopefully, he is just as ineffective
My lowest point for the USA was in 2004 when we reelected Bush. He was awful at everything, but mostly he started wars that killed so many people. Half the country didn’t care. Not only does half the country not care about foreigners. They don’t care about their own citizens unless they agree with them. That goes for some democrats too, although I don’t refer to righties as the enemy from within. MAGA is the most worrisome to me though. I do hope we don’t become the handmaids tail.
Harris won Massachusetts by 26%. I’m proud of that. Basically took the whole northeast, except for Maine. Despite this, I might live in one of the best parts of the world. 4 seasons, beaches, mountains, food, employment, hospitals, schools are all excellent. Our two biggest problems are housing costs and our population is decreasing because people can barely afford rent. Immigration has saved us for now.
I feel for black women in Missouri and am worried about MAGA, but not much I can do. We’ll see what 4 years brings.
I had thought if it would have been better Trump won in 2020, would it be better now, since we’d have neither Biden or Trump. I think it is better this way. Except for Israel, Biden was a good President in a very difficult time.
I hope you’re right. It’s looking like Trump might control both houses, and he now has a right-wing-nut-job Supreme Court. He is also unleashed. He knows he can’t run again. It could be bad, but it also might be ok. I believe in the fundamental good of 47.6% of Americans, and perhaps that will be enough.
There is a strong possibility inported goods will go up in price soon, to offset higher tariffs.
I don’t have a problem with tariffs. Many things we purchase are useless crap, but I just look at it as a national sales tax that you don’t see, even though the consumer pays the middle man.
Some imported goods are necessities, though. I’d imagine those will go up in price.
That’s my point. You only pay if you buy a tariffed product. Not everyone that lives in America pays that tax so if Trump does away with federal taxes and consumers don’t buy every product on the market, doesn’t that benefit consumers?
Some people here obviously did not expect Trump to win, beat his legal battles and just overall continue to “survive at the top”
Trump was very humble in interviews by various YouTubers. A few times on these shows and interviews or events he consented to appear at he was offered gifts, expensive ones I don’t know of he actually accepted. One for instance was a Rolex, another time an individual presented him a custom wrapped Tesla vehicle.
Federal campaign limits for individual contributions were limited to $3,300.
Whether or not th gifts were offered under this pretense or accepted, I don’t know.
But I wondered why they offered in the first place. Do you think it was mean?
Those gifts may have been given to Trump, idk, but I assure you, he does not take bribes to do the dirty work of elites with special agendas. He fights for us because he cares what happens in America and what happens here will happen all over the world.
I do not know Trump personally. What I do know is that Trump is no politician. He doesn’t take kickbacks or bribes. He doesn’t believe in wasteful spending and if he did, he would not have hired Musk and Vivic to trim the pork, which is the source for all kickbacks.
Why do I need you to tell me that? Why are you telling me this when it is taken out of context? I was referring to smaller potentially ensnaring gifts over $3300. by YouTubers,
