I have no reason to believe Trump would want that letter classified or redacted. Speaking of classified, what about those CH document. I guess we have time for that after the Biden celebration.

Trump’s accomplishments:
- The only president ever impeached twice.
- Millions more out of work than when he was sworn in.
- 400,000 dead from the coronavirus.
- Under his watch, Republicans lost the presidency and both chambers of Congress.
- EPA was gutted.
- Obamacare was gutted.
- Taxes were cut for billionaires and millionaires.
- The federal debt doubled.
- The federal deficit increased at least 4-fold and possibly 5-fold.
- Totally destroyed America’s global image.
Biden can fix the EPA and Obamacare. He can raise taxes on billionaires and maybe get the deficit closer to sanity. The rest of these are probably one-way trips.
Another one I got wrong.

So I have been thinking about Trump and my hope that he suffers. That this is in conflict with my recently stated desire to end human suffering is perhaps unsurprising given my general lack of consistency on such matters. Here are my current thoughts.

Trump will not be convicted by the Senate. The Republicans there are still prostitutes and Trump is still powerful. They won’t vote to convict.

Despite that, Trumps star has dimmed. The QAnon nuts put all their faith in the idea that Trump would pull a rabbit out of his hat and retake power. It didn’t happen. Biden is president, Trump is golfing and it’s clear all their conspiracy nonsense was just that. Trump’s chances at a 2024 run seem low to me.

Trump is facing a cash crunch but he should still emerge financially solvent. From what I can tell, he owes about a billion on 3 billion in assets so he should be able to survive on the surface. Even if he has to sell a few assets to make the cash flow work, that should be doable.

Financially, the wild card is what happens if he loses some or all of these civil suits against him. There are literally dozens outstanding and he could/should lose the majority. The question lies in what kind of judgements are rendered. If he has to pay $100 million in total, he should be ok. If he has to pay $2 billion, he’s screwed.

The biggest concern Trump has is criminal exposure. He might be charged criminally by the SDNY for various crimes in the near future. Many of us are expecting that but after 4 years of disappointments (Mueller, impeachment, etc.), we need to be cautious. The (usually Republican) state of Georgia is also looking at criminal charges against Trump. There may be others. There may also be federal charges since Trump didn’t pardon himself. Criminal charges of some kind are the best chance we have of Trump suffering for many years before finally dying in disgrace.
Hopefully it’s a federal charge that does him in, since he was too lazy to pardon himself.
It seems logical as a survival instinct he would prefer to remain in offense. You really don’t like mud Reggie?

Trump is like a Cane Toad. Can’t really take a bite out of crime if you are sizing up him. Deadly but only if you try to kill him. Harmless if you just leave him about alone and to his own business. Massive numbers.
