Trump didn’t let us have that money. He must be very selfish but I don’t know. People need that money right now. That’s what my mom says. He gives billionaires a tax cut but won’t give Americans 600 dollars? What’s that about? I thought it was a very generous bill. Countries all over the world stood poised to receive a blessing
from the bill. A blessing greater than the relief Americans stood to receive. I just don’t understand why he wouldn’t want us to have that money. I can only assume he doesn’t love us the way we love him. Oh well. He’s on his way out. Maybe Joe will love us more, better, stronger and with more sincerity. I can only hope he will reverse some of this unnecessary division between us and other countries like Iran, China, Russia and NK. I really believe we can compromise with them. We can start by letting China sell all there junk here. If it doesn’t present an environmental problem, we can pour out our milk on the ground to make room for Canadian dairy. We can restart the nuclear agreement with Iran. Maybe sell another 20% of our uranium to Russia. I just believe we haven’t done enough and there are things we can do as a nation to appease the world. History has recorded Obama as one of the great presidents of our country. We need to mirror his works and get this country back to normal.
“Operation Legend Leads to Over 6,000 Arrests, Including 467 for Murder
Of those who were arrested, about 1,500 were charged with federal offenses, and 467 were suspected of homicide. The program also resulted in the seizure of 2,600 firearms, more than 32 kilos of heroin, more than 17 kilos of fentanyl, more than 300 kilos of methamphetamine, more than 135 kilos of cocaine, and more than $11 million in drug and other illicit proceeds.”
We are not going in the right direction. What country in their right political mind makes that many arrests? Surely, Trump has not approved such violence against criminals.
Republicans BLOCK Pelosi’s Christmas Eve bid to enact $2,000 checks
That’s the headline…
It’s getting more and more difficult to deny the truth.
From PBS, official representative of the United States.
Republicans block $2,000 virus checks despite Trump demand
I don’t understand why Republicans are so selfish that they would withhold much needed aid to the people who need it the most. This is what Trump wanted for Americans.
I’m glad you like it, Reg. It’s only fitting that you should step out in favor of my confusion first. I’ll keep adding until the little heart to the left is gone.
“A Pakistani court on Thursday overturned the death sentence for British-born militant Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh convicted for the 2002 killing of American journalist Daniel Pearl. His lawyer says his sentence has been reduced to seven years in jail.”
Do you think 7 years is justice for the brutal murder of Daniel Pearl? Maybe Sheikh should not face justice at all. We don’t know that he didn’t deserve to be beheaded.
“Some friendly health advice to Iran: “If one American is killed, I will hold Iran responsible. Think it over.””
—Trump
I guess Iran is offended over accusations made about the image Trump posted.
“The next day, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif hit out at the president’s use of a “worthless photo to recklessly accuse Iran,” while saying Trump is “far worse” than President George W. Bush, who instigated the 2003 Iraq War with the then-UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.”
“The day after Soleimani’s funeral, Iran responded with dozens of missiles targeting Iraqi bases that hosted US military personnel.”
Iran has done everything to bring peace to the region. I just don’t have much faith in their divisive work.
Take heart, Michele. Trump just left for Florida until after New Year, where he will golf many rounds as an act of patriotism and leave hungry Americans to fend for themselves because capitalism.
I didn’t go anywhere for Christmas. I would have had to put a mask on and I am just so sick of them. They make me feel like I’m suffocating and I hate that they have so much control over my life.
I can’t help but wonder what the next recommendation will be or who will make it. I suppose it doesn’t really matter who makes it. Masks today, vaccine certificates tomorrow. Every “recommendation” they make is a new low that takes a little more freedom from our lives. I do know that’s not their fault. They are only doing what they believe is right and best for us and our health because they do know more than we do about what is best for us. I still have the right to reject their recommendations, even if rejecting it reflects poorly on me. It’s just always a damned if I do, damned if I don’t kind of scenario I have to learn to live with. Which damned way do I want to go today. It’s just an awful feeling to have to decide do I want to risk another persons life for my own freedom to breathe or do I want to suffocate?
Anyway, in a world filled with hopelessness, Trump delivered a very beautiful and humbling Christmas message.
I actually get that. I can’t breathe normally with a mask on. That’s fine if I’m walking on level ground unencumbered. In the airport with 100 lbs of luggage each plus carry-ons and a cat, and some a-hole endlessly telling me I couldn’t take my cart past this point, I often pulled my mask down. I had to.
Why didn’t you get help?
I get three guesses.
You couldn’t find anyone to pay to carry your luggage?
Your wife isn’t stout enough to do it for you?
You need the exercise?
#1 is correct. Isa had the cat to deal with, and she also carried her backpack. She couldn’t carry more. I did need the exercise but I’d rather get it in more opportune circumstances.
Trump is about to force millions of Americans into abject poverty and desperation because he’s mad that he lost.
waiting for 1/20/21. trump is a douchebag.
He’s not forcing Americans into anything. We support what he is doing.
I’m proud of Congress for making this a bipartisan Bill and 5000 pages shouldn’t take long to read. I can’t wait to find out who gets what.
Have you already read it and if so, do you know who will benefit from the Covid relief bill to Americans?
you are a sad lot, aren’t you?
trump won’t read 3 sentences.
Michele, if jobless benefits aren’t extended (which this bill does), you are going to see some significant levels of starvation in your country. You don’t speak for all Americans. Most Americans are totally against Trump’s childish last tantrum.
It’s true. trump is a spoiled brat throwing a tantrum.
Thankfully, trump supporters are a minority.
Here’s the group’s breakdown of what else is in the bill:
• $325 billion in aid to small businesses (includes Paycheck Protection Program)
I’m all for restaurants getting relief. The food and entertainment industry has been unfairly targeted
for starvation. I blame Trump for allowing the CDC to make a recommendation to starve restaurant owners.
• $120 billion for unemployment assistance ($300 a week for 11 weeks)
• $82 billion for education (such as K-12 education grants)
I don’t know why education needs relief. Schools are closed more often than not to Covid outbreaks.
• $56 billion for health care (includes funding for states to do COVID-19 testing)
I don’t know why health care needs relief. They are making a fortune diagnosing every sniffle covid related. You could be diagnosed with autism and it would still be covid-related autism. Same goes for a schizophrenia and narcissism.
Passing the omnibus Bill with covid relief works the same way. It doesn’t matter what the two bills are for, find a way to label them covid-related to justify the necessity for taxpayer-funded American aid to foreign countries.
• $45 billion for transportation (includes payroll support program for airline workers)
• $83 billion for other spending (such as rental assistance, nutrition programs)
• $40 billion for other tax cuts (such as the Extend and Expand Employee Retention Tax Credit)
Thats because we have to feed the world first. At least eight foreign countries will receive aid, including Egypt, Sudan, and Ukraine. Egypt would get $1.3 billion.
Kennedy Center — $26,400,000.
You don’t speak for any.
Most Americans are totally against this predictably years-long lockdown.
Pouting?
Ignore that his base grew by 11 million previously self-proclaimed Democrats.
True, and you speak for only one. Google the polls. The overwhelming majority of Americans want a relief bill. Trump has one on his desk that was passed by both houses and like a child, he’s refusing to sign it.
We can only hope he will grow up before Tuesday.
