@Michele and @Will, I made the same error of thinking this was about justice for George Floyd. It has gone past that. This is now simply a war against the machine. In protests, you have specific targets and goals. In wars, you target widely and burn cities. They are also sending a clear message to the machine: “We have had enough. Kill us and we’ll kill you back.” I don’t justify any of this, nor do I agree with it, but that’s what this has become.
Wondering how it will end, if it does
Wars are generally won and lost on military supply. Keeping the weapons of war available, of course, but also keeping the soldiers fed. Keeping their families supported back home. These soldiers can’t afford to take any more time off work or their families will starve. I’m guessing it fizzles soon.
Such sudden energy drains make it difficult to go on. That and preset automaton movements .
