There are plenty of reports complete with images that assert the markets are still open for business, even in Wuhan itself. If China gets serious and closes those markets and keeps them closed, I will have less issue with them. I would still think we need to become less dependent on them. Their cornering the market on health supplies and then stopping exports was clear evidence that we’re too far down that path. I’m also not sure they should get a pass for having caused this in the first place.

I’ve shown you the evidence from the WHO pdf, if you recall. Is it conclusive? No. Is it incriminating enough that we need to stop bat markets worldwide entirely while we investigate further? Absolutely. The consequences of shutting down the world vs. closing a few bat markets makes that a no-brainer.

You could be right. God knows we have lost our stones somewhere in the last few generations. I hope you’re wrong, though. Trump, as much as I hate him, showed us that we CAN sanction China and sanction them HARD without destroying our own economies. He was right on that and the rest of us (including me) who thought that would be devastating to our own economies were wrong. We need to learn from that. And find our balls.

In regards to my tools, none of them were bought new except my ryobi lawnmower and leafblower.
It looks like ryobi headquarters are in Hong Kong. So I don’t have any chinese tools that I bought new. The only new stuff from China I have bought in the last 2 months is a shower liner.
My toilet paper is made in Canada.
