then you don’t really remember do you?
trumps “reign” is more like trumps 'rain". A golden shower pissing on the nation.
I remember the image of the plant and the smiling workers. Aside from his misdemeanour on Twitter last year and being a bit too much into pharma, Trump didn’t do nothing wrong so far, or did he?
…likely some car plant like Ford way back at the beginning of his glorious and pompous reign.
With cheap oil and American-made Fords you can escape any crisis heading for the wilderness just as the bible predicts for the end-of-times…Your leader is a wise man!
That’s just too stupid try to respond to.
Yeah, that’s not going so well.
while the move is being hailed by some as a victory for the president-elect, a closer look at the announcement, made by senior Ford executives at a suburban Detroit assembly plant, did not actually reverse the central decision the automaker announced last April.
Small car production, such as the compact Focus model, will still move to Mexico, just into an existing Ford plant in Hermosillo.
EDIT: I will say this, while I do not feel Trump has done anything for the American economy except explode their deficit, I do support the idea of reducing the world’s dependence on Chinese manufacturing. We need to start building more in other countries. Right now the Chinese have us all but the nuts and it’s not healthy.
Another trump victory that wasn’t.
i guess 2017 - 2020 is only enough time to blame others and not do something yourself

Trump is a chicken shit and would never get near a bull.
Don’t say such things. He knocked one down in a wrestling fight! Merkel didn’t, Obama neither AFAIK.
You really will believe anything. lol
“Acosta to Trump: Who dropped the ball on pandemic preparation?”
Trump probably would have been more prepared but he was busy reviving the economy while under investigation. In December, when coronavirus first emerged on the scene, we couldn’t fault Democrats because they were distracted by their own fake impeachment.
What matters is confusing.
They are calling this price gouging but after reading your post I’m wondering if it’s not self-compensation for restriction on exporting.
https://time.com/5807515/price-gouging-coronavirus/
The only thing being restricted is what’s not considered essential which does seem like a controlled collapse of the global economy but idk. I’m confused by it all anyway.
An Air BnB owner raises prices when demand is high for any reason, whether it’s just high season for tourists or when there’s an event in town. They lower prices when demand is down. It’s accepted as a good business practice. A convenience store does that during an emergency and they’re said to be “gouging”, even though they may have no revenue for months after that emergency.
Buy gold or silver before an emergency and sell it for huge profits during the emergency and people call you a smart investor. Buy face masks, hand sanitizer or toilet paper and do that and risk prison in most places for price gouging.
We need clearer rules about what business is allowed and not allowed to do. The current system of “get mad at everyone” when things are bad is stupid.
When you put it like that, I agree. We do. Since you seem to know what would fix the world, what is your solution?
I’m so sorry, Reg. I don’t know +anything about the “current system.” But when I think about it, mad does not come to mind and never has.
I just mean we get mad at people who do “price gouging” even though, as far as I can tell, that’s how business works. You buy low and sell high, as high as the market will bear, and if the market will bear more, you raise your prices.
Again, I have no issue at all with changing the rules. I just want to know what the rules are. If we’re not allowed to raise prices on certain goods during emergencies, say clearly what those goods are and people can decide if they’re interested in trading in those goods.
If individuals aren’t allowed to buy certain goods to resell at profit to their neighbours during emergencies, say that, too. Right now if I buy up bicycles and sell them during an emergency for profit, nobody cares, but if I do that with toilet paper, everyone loses their mind.
Or does capitalism just totally stop during emergencies? If so, fine, say that and we can all know the new rules and work within them instead of just guessing what forms of trade will piss people off.
rule is simple: if i do it then its ok, if you do it then it is wrong
Maybe I’m wrong but capitalism has not operating as usual since the emergence of this virus. Your saving Socialism seems to be the new norm with communism rapping on our doors.
True! We are either in a transition period from capitalism to communism (I doubt that btw) or we have just temporarily suspended capitalism and nobody wants to admit that. Or somewhat suspended it. I mean, anyone doing home deliveries is making a killing right now and people are treating them like heroes.
