I have never been there that I can recall. I have to phrase it that way because I have been to many places in the US that I don’t remember so it’s possible I have actually been there and just don’t recall it. There were a lot of US road trips in my past where one state just ran into another state over and over. I remember having a deer jump over my car in Idaho. I remember stumbling on a motorcycle street race in LA wondering how the hell those black people got away with doing that in the middle of town. I remember driving through Texas and wondering why Americans wanted to hole up in those big houses far away from everything so they had to drive everywhere. I still wonder that sometimes. It just seems like an awful lifestyle choice but to each their own.
Oklahoma is easily forgotten. Look at the POM. Flat, featureless, boring terrain. Dirt poor one horse towns with dirt poor girls looking for a way out.
I have real difficulty understanding the accent in those areas.
I’m 56 and I have no desire to uhhh look for a way out.

The recent pictures of Brisbane and Oklahoma were equally idyllic. I intend to show equally idyllic representations of New Hampshire and Bavaria. We all know nowhere is perfect. We all know what a ghetto looks like.

You know, I get Florida and hurricanes. You have good building standards and when hurricanes hit, all you can do is board up, put away anything that’s not secured, and hope for the best.
What I don’t get is Louisiana and Texas who keep on building in flood plains. Every few decades, they get wiped out. They know they’ll get wiped out and they just hope for the best and rebuild in the same spots. It’s moronic.

Do you think boarding up saved those people in 1926, 1928 or 1935? What about Hurricane Donna, Cleo, Andrew, Charley, Francis or Wilma? Did boarding up save them or their property?
They probably took a page from Floridians who keep going back and building their fancy mansions near the water where insurance has to pay out for their destruction over and over again which in turn makes everyone’s insurance unaffordable.
No luck needed. He’s already boarded up and feeling secure.
