I agree with all of that but I only weigh 175. If I take you down, I’m not going to be strong enough to pin you for 10 minutes while the cops show up. What should I do for those 10 minutes? Besides search bbad.

This is nonsense. The thief was knocked out briefly but then he recovered and was standing up right until the end of the video. The additional educational beating he received was highly appropriate and helpful in ensuring he didn’t escape or cause further damage.
He might think twice before he tries to rob someone again.

What if he hadn’t gotten that additional beating, Nico? Yes, he might’ve just sat there waiting for police, or he might’ve grabbed a knife he had on him and stabbed the clerk and taken off.
We don’t know the alternative outcomes. We know this outcome, however, and the guy got a beating, obviously not life threatening, and will recover in a few weeks and hopefully learn a lesson. Well played on all sides.
