Mexico

Mexico has been a mess for a decade, now. They need to kill their drug gangs.

That is exactly what Trump has proposed. Death penalty to those who traffic drugs across the border.

I’m sure the Mexican government is full of men who will suggest she leave and I would not be surprised if they plot to assassinate her but at the very least, I hope she succeeds in cleaning up the mess they’ve made at the border.

She is a leftist, which I usually approve of, but in this case I would like to see a harder line on Mexican gang crime. Right now, places like Tijuana and Acapulco have murder rates about 50 times that of Vancouver and 2 times that of St. Louis (which is the worst in the US at about 70 per hundred thousand).

Looking at the numbers, I see that after a multi-decade decline, the murder rate in the US started to rise under Trump and continues to rise under Biden. If the US doesn’t do something drastic, it will reach third world numbers in no time. It may already be there. The murder rates in many US cities (St. Louis, New Orleans, Baltimore, Detroit, Milwaukee) are four times that of Medellín or Bogotá in Colombia, and twenty times that of Vancouver.

Mexico has 5 of the 10 most dangerous cities in the world. Brasil has 3. All are in the west.

New Hampshire has the lowest murder rate in the US at 1.1 per hundred thousand. That’s less than half the rate in Vancouver.

We aren’t very crowded. New England is quite low. Michele thinks it’s because it’s too cold to go outside and murder someone around here. I guess it’s not in Detroit or Milwaukee, though.

Our unemployment is 2.6% 5th in the country.

You chose well, but honestly Oklahoma doesn’t look bad either, and it has better weather. Its murder rate is 7.4 which is much higher than New Hampshire but is roughly average for the US. Small town Oklahoma is not bad looking. I have trouble understanding the Oklahoma accent, though, and the drive-everywhere culture would make me crazy.

How about the tornadoes?

Yes, true. And the MAGA people. I don’t want to live in Oklahoma. I just don’t find it as disgusting as Alabama or Arkansas or Tennessee. And if I did end up living in Oklahoma for whatever reason, I’d be fine. I’d get a little house and keep it nicely and eat dead cows and drive everywhere and become 300 lb like everyone else. I like to fit in.

I would rather live in Oklahoma than Mexico. I would have a hard time adjusting to the food, though.

I think it’s funny Elizabeth Warren is from Oklahoma.

LOL. Have you ever been to those 4 states? Doug Lawrence who grew up across the street from me lives in Oklahoma he used to play with the Tulsa Oil Kings with Gary Unger as the coach who used to play for the St. Louis Blues. Doug is a FB friend. He likes it there has a son on a baseball scholarship at Oklahoma U Tanner Lawrence works for a pot company now that it is legal there.

Pocahontas.

Yes, actually, but not for decades. I follow a guy on Youtube who goes to those places and reports back. Things aren’t looking good there.

Foot and Mouth disease has already been tried.

You would blend in like a piece of furniture just as you are.

You would adjust. Most of it tastes just like rubber.

I thought of this for awhile. I still remember Adam moving to OKC many years ago. He hated it so badly. He was afraid to go anywhere because he thought violent gang people would bother him, and he was probably right. He only lasted a short time as I recall. Small town Oklahoma is much less violent, but then you’re into the country lifestyle of driving everywhere. I think I’d take Mexico. Puerto Vallarta for sure. Even Cancun. San Miguel de Allende is gorgeous but very hot, and it’s in the center of gang violence these days so it’s probably best avoided. Ciudad de Mexico is another huge Latin megalopolis. Traffic, air pollution, crime, but also endless things to do. Vallarta would be my first choice, I think.

By endless you mean lots of museums filled with cheap art and graven images of your carved idols?

Neat video I watched about half of it. Have heard of Fordyce but don’t remember why. Have bought fruit from Berryville. My parents drove through the coastal states you mentioned but did not venture from the road that follows the beach. The movie with the star from Coach that was set in neighbouring Louisiana that was a ABC special 20 plus years back correctly predicted the worsening weather caused by global warming The Day After. Sturko the BC United MLA star joined the BC Conservstives today don’t like their global climate change policy but I have donated to them this year and last and like other policies of theirs.

I mean museums, art galleries, symphonies, festivals, public events, amazing views, and just the general vibe of a huge city. Ciudad de México is not my favourite big city in the world (Bogotá is) but one would not be bored living there.

Regarding graven images of carved idols, I went to the Museo Nacional de Arte Maya (Museum of Mayan Art) in Guatemala a few weeks ago. Amazing place. Amazing art. Amazing people, those Mayans, if a bit bloodthirsty. Here are my photos (you have to scroll down about halfway to see the Museum photos).
