most christians will be brave enough to tell you that they hate homosexuality but never homosexuals, there is no need to make things personal or people might start realising a few things
they usually dont want to tell you that they believe that your brothers love for his partner is not real, it is not only fake but an abomination and no matter how he and his partner(s) live their lives; they need to suffer for eternity in hell for that

I would also add that the Bible is clear: God hates the sinner. God hates gays. He doesn’t just hate the sin and love the sinner. That is a myth created by fools and is nowhere to be found in the Bible. The Bible says God hates the PEOPLE who sin.
