I’ve read that so far 1300 have died in Israel and 2300 have in Gaza since October 7th. I haven’t seen a picture of one dead person in Israel, including the music festival. You would think they would share those photos for sympathy.
One of many interesting questions to me is, “Did Hamas start this by attacking Israel last week, or did Israel start this by making Gaza an open-air prison for decades?”. I have no answers.
Another interesting question to me is, “Where is the support for Israel?”. I’m hearing it on right-wing podcasts. I’m seeing it from our politicians. Overwhelmingly, though, the support on the ground and in the protests appears to be for the Palestinians.
EDIT: Even some of our politicians are showing no stomach for this Israeli carnage.
They probably have too much respect for the dead. In the article below, they went that extra distance to smear the image of a dead Hamas terrorist so as to protect innocent readers from scarring.
Does Israel really need support?
Both is probably not an option so I’ll go ahead and admit, Israel started it when Hamas opened fire on the innocent.
Your last comment bothers me, because that scenario is biblical.
I went digging for Canadian support. Besides the 10 Canada committed in humanitarian aid, the only other commitment I found was their 300 million dollar commitment to Palestine over 5 years, which was way back in 2007 so there wouldn’t be much to withdraw.
I wasn’t just talking about money, Michele. I wish Canada would support the right of Israelis to exist along with the right of Palestinians to exist. Equally.
I just watched a report about the brutal and barbaric killings by Hamas. I have no words which could describe how much I despise them. No way they have any point to criticize how the Israelis reacted in the past. If an Israeli soldier would have done such things, he would get thrown behind bars. Hamas supporters view those scum as heros.
You are absolutely right, Gunda. Israel is about to mount a full-scale war against Hamas and they have every right to do so. It is offensive to dismiss an Iranian-funded slaughter of peace-loving Israelis while simultaneously calling for Israel to show terrorists mercy. There is really nothing more barbaric than that. These people understand nothing but death. They can’t be reasoned with and so, if they don’t already know, those who show no mercy receive no mercy.
What a lot of jihadi nonsense. Hamas conducted a barbaric campaign of terror against Israel. Israel is responding by starving, killing and denying water and medicine to a bunch of old women and children, killing far more innocents than Hamas killed in Israel. Two terrorist groups are killing innocents, Hamas and the State of Israel.
Oh hush! You’re twisting and bending the facts. The food and water had to be cut off to move Hamas supporters south, away from Israel’s ground offensive.
I’m not sure which fair and balanced propaganda channel told you that but it has nothing to do with the truth. A siege from a military perspective means to flatten the place. Israel has clearly told people to leave Gaza entirely, without giving them any ability to do that.
