Interesting New Tech

So, where I have a padlock in that screen shot, you have a circle with an i in it?

correct.

I think I see why. Some of the images people upload are from insecure sites. If you go to the home page at https://discourse.bbad.com/ and hit F5 to refresh, that should disappear and you should get the padlock. At least I do.

Went to my windows ten computer, did the f5 and its back to the lock now.

It seems the Godless Dutch are not the only ones in the Hyperloop game.

I wonder how practical the drawers 10 feet up in the air are.

True but I love them. What a useful idea, making use of space that’s usually wasted. I’m not sure I’d do it as open stairs are beautiful, but it’s nice that someone thought of this.

I like it too. Sucks when you lose power but I have lost power for a total of 1 hour in 2 years. Probably can’t climb up there.

A rope for a handrail? nah

In Colombia you’ll see tons of stairs with no handrail of any kind. I’m not only talking about poor places, although that’s also true. I mean in rich, posh places. It’s amazing to me that’s allowed in the building code here.

you couldn’t have any kids over. That’s the first place they would want to play. Looks like there is a handrail on the wall.

Yes, there’s a handrail on the wall in that picture but I’ve seen several staircases here with nothing to hold on to at all. It’s a bit freaky for people from North America.
