Interesting New Tech

I got this today in packaging 100 times it’s size. I recently had some trouble with my iPhone battery rapidly discharging. When I say rapid I mean about 1% every 3 seconds. Turning off locations, push messages, refresh etc didn’t change it. Removing apps don’t change it. Resetting the phone did. That and of course paying my Bill. Maybe they throttled the Mcafee to get me to.
But anyways just in case an app goes rogue again or some feature I bought this. Just like a credit card I can put in my wallet with a short lightning cable. Anything bigger I might forsake on some trips. Haven’t tested it yet but my phone is holding charge wayyyyyy better since the reset. I can leave it off the charger without use and it’s is 100% for near a day.

is it a battery?

Yes basically. A mini power bank. I was looking at solar charging power banks and power banks 10000mah and5000mah etc. Still if I just carry a wallet and wear workout shorts I can slip this inside. The other power banks still are a bit bulky but I want to buy the bigger solar one that can charge three devices.

it says clear on the box litium ion battery and a shipping warning about passenger aircraft. It is just in case I need a ride or something from my phone and the charge repidly depletes due to an app malfunction. If you own iphone or look it up it is common.

I forgot about my bill due date. They might have used the Mcafee app for security and/or find my phone app the drain the battery. Sometimes it is another service. Your battery will go from full charge to less than 10% in minutes
Some of the power sticks I owned before don’t hold charge very long and can’t power through long cables.

Get a reliable power bank that doesn’t discharge easily. Don’t trust your phone even if the battery is new. An app can be throttled or a service to deplete the battery or force it to show low charge and shut the phone down even if the battery is charged.

BEAT IT WITH BIG BANKING.

I totally agree with Mark. It’s good to keep a power bank backup in your go bag (if you have go-bag). They’re cheap and worth their weight in gold in an emergency.

If you do go down that path, it’s also good to try to make as many of your toys as possible USB powered. My phone is USB powered, of course, but so are my flashlights. My ham radio HT has a USB power adapter. My razor is USB powered. My toothbrush is USB powered. Generally speaking if it’s electric and it isn’t USB powered, I don’t want it.

yes could be bill gates lol or a defective battery or one of your apps, but its also a known issue with some iphone updates; try backing up everything you want to keep and wipe+restore or start from scratch

of course it could also just be apple trying to help you with your old iphone again and stimulating you to buy a new one lol

technology, the enema of the people. it once was coal, railroads, phone companies, standard oil that screwed us. Now the techs have the ball. Their turn to screw. Who will screw after tech? Someone or something will.

That was just tech a few decades ago.

Newer tech.

You mean like glow-in-the-dark tattoos?

Apple issues new warning: Keep your iPhone six inches away from your pacemaker

Hard to imagine calling blimps “new tech” but it could happen.

I got Isa a Lenovo Yoga tablet today. It’s brilliant. The speakers are the best I’ve ever heard on a tablet, and the built in stand is incredibly useful. Now I want one.

Tape an old rolodex card on the back. At least it will have one real function.

Evolution must be a slow process for Xiaomi.

Oddly, they’re one of the most rapidly innovative companies out there. The Chinese Apple, some call them. Just makes this non-change of the logo that much sillier.

New fashion, you could say it is “fall fashion”. I think some of these should be donated to hate crime beating victims to make them feel a bit safer walking on sidewalks and streets. Great for company image.
