Interesting New Tech

NYC using uv light on subway system between 1 and 5 am to disinfect the coronavirus. 150 units.

I’m not against most of these anti-COVID-19 steps and I’m fine with UV lights on subways, but I do find myself wondering if we’re going to screw our own immune systems if we don’t let them encounter and defeat viruses. It could mean that when we do encounter a virus, it could go much worse for us. I’m not asserting that, just speculating. Things often have unintended consequences.

Does UV light work?

I have no knowledge but this seems convincing to me.

You need lots of trash under the light for the look you have. What a hue! Pssst nobody can see the trash you’re o.k.

These caught my eye. I might try them once Amazon starts delivering again. Headphones that don’t go in your ear but work through bone conduction. Largely silent to anyone else nearby.

No, I don’t believe.

Gee, why did you go ahead and do that?

Isn’t that a little too excessive tech for you to use? Does it scale down in performance appropriately to the suckiness of the user?

Get what I’m saying?

Decepticons have the cheapest looking weak legs. Also the metal for their bodies, it looks like collected aluminum foil used to smoke fish.

I never get what you are saying.

It just leads to frustration more than it does enjoyment. That cause more demand and stress.

Really? I hadn’t noticed.

This is amazing. I had no idea this was even a thing. Electric planes would change the world.

Pretty amazing considering battery weight.

I was thinking about that. Those batteries must be massive.

Just got these today. It’s early to tell but I’m a bit disappointed so far. The sound is good. Better than I expected, actually. Volume is a bit low but adequate. You won’t be cranking any music on this. Even the highest volume is not really loud. Sound leakage is low but not zero. It’s certainly ok, though, and others won’t generally be bothered by your music/podcasts/whatever. The reason I’m disappointed is that they’re uncomfortable. Too tight. I’m going to try stretching them out over the next little while. If they get more comfortable, I’ll really like them. As it stands, it’s nice to not have anything in my ear.

Didn’t know where to put this but it’s really worth watching.
