I’ve decided to crank up my new radio tomorrow. Still have antenna problem but the right part should be here saturday. Not sure I need antenna just to crank it up and move around and learn the functions. If I do I have a dummy load I can use.

I’m sure you know this but if you don’t use an antenna, at least turn the power down to a watt, in order to save your finals from reflected power. Or use a dummy load as you said.

Yes, definitely low power plus the dummy load. Should be fine. I want to learn my way around a new radio.
What about your RC. You bought a Traxxas not some cheap radio shack or walmart right? I was told those are pieces of ____ by enthusiasts. How is finger control?

You could use some version of an Outbacker antenna from your balcony.
Backpacker antenna is better. I have a Dial Tone from G.I. Joe setup.
