Good Sports Day

We’re both happy!

Remember: Canada won many prestige events, including the men’s 4x100m.

The Netherlands won synchronized fudge packing.

lol somehow i dont remenber any medals canada won, probably because you won so few…

oh relay?! yes i remember that relay race that the netherlands won… that was one of the most amazing runs during the olympics with that unbelievable bol finish!
then again there is only 1 real prestige event: the marathon

No problem, I’ll remind you. Canada’s gold medals:

  • Christa Deguchi - Women’s Judo (-57 kg)
  • Summer McIntosh - Women’s 400m Individual Medley (Swimming)
  • Summer McIntosh - Women’s 200m Butterfly (Swimming)
  • Summer McIntosh - Women’s 400m Freestyle (Swimming)
  • Ethan Katzberg - Men’s Hammer Throw (Athletics)
  • Camryn Rogers - Women’s Hammer Throw (Athletics)
  • Aaron Brown, Jerome Blake, Brendon Rodney, Andre De Grasse - Men’s 4x100m Relay (Athletics)
  • Maggie Coles-Lyster, Sarah van Dam, Erin Attwell, Ariane Bonhomme - Women’s Team Pursuit (Track Cycling)
  • Phil Kim (B-Boy Phil Wizard) - Men’s Breaking (Dance Sport)

Here are the Dutch gold medals.

  • Men’s Quadruple Sculls (Rowing)
  • Women’s Coxless Four (Rowing)
  • Women’s Coxless Pair (Rowing)
  • Women’s 49er FX (Sailing)
  • Women’s Single Sculls (Rowing)
  • Mixed 4 × 400 metres Relay (Athletics)
  • Men’s 3x3 Basketball Tournament
  • Men’s Team Sprint (Cycling)
  • ILCA 6 (Sailing)
  • 10 km Open Water (Swimming)
  • Men’s Field Hockey
  • Women’s Field Hockey
  • Women’s Marathon (Athletics)
  • Men’s Keirin (Cycling)

I think the best assessment of the Dutch medal count is “Hahahahahahaha Wankers”. Everyone has heard of every single Canadian gold medal event. Breaking was a bit of a joke, but the rest were prestige events. Aside from the (women’s) marathon, almost nobody even knew those Dutch golds were sports.

lol perhaps everyone in canada or perhaps only in your brain lol
indeed so few medals… but yes now i do remember 1… your breakdancing gold lmao

I should let this go, but let’s just have one more round to see if Nico can come up with a better comeback than his last effort.

Summer McIntosh was one of the unquestioned stars of the games. Best female swimmer in the world. And at 18, she has at least two more Olympic Games in her future.

Hammer throw is one of the traditional sports of the Olympics and is unquestionably a prestige track & field event. Canada won both men’s and women’s hammer throw.

Judo is universally acknowledged as one of the world’s great sports.

Team pursuit is perhaps the most exciting indoor cycling event in the world.

Oh, and that 4x100 relay. Not the silly MIXED relay that the gross Dutch won. The 4x100 men’s relay, perhaps the most important event at any Olympics. C’est magnifique!

Don’t worry, your gold in team men’s fudgepacking is safe. We won’t even compete.

well if you insist there are indeed 2 more points to be made:

one is that some countries demanded a dna test because your hammer thrower looked too much like an australian athlete or a german pornstar from the 80’s lmao
let me google him to give him all the credit he deserves:

ah its ethan katzberg! :

and of course the main and final point is what the whole world will only
remember canada for at the olympics;

that they are cheats! :

You might remember that. The rest of the world will remember our masterclass at the 4x100m (men’s not Dutch trans), and for Summer McIntosh emerging as the best female swimmer in the world with three gold medals. I wouldn’t trade those moments for all of the Dutch gold medals in team bestiality.

either that or its only you (and a few other canadians who dont value sportmanship) that will remember those events (which you shouldnt even have been allowed to compete in because you cheated)

the rest of the world will only forever remember the canadians in paris2024 for being cheaters

You don’t speak for the world, pretentious Dutch ass. lol.

and neither do you, egotistical canadian cheater supporter

I almost forgot about this. Gunda reminded me in the other thread. Nico, you whine about our soccer team using drones to watch the other team practice, but you say nothing about a convicted child rapist on the Dutch team. Priorities, I see. lol. Anyway, while I do not speak for the world, I am quite sure the rest of the world will remember the Netherlands team for being deviant perverts and thereby successfully representing Dutch culture.

lol i did not whine… you asked, i replied and i did say something…
you are getting older and more forgetful every day, reg… we already talked about this:

I didn’t forget that. I just forgot to bring it up again here! I fixed that.

lol ok then, did you change your opinion since then?

Boxing isn’t really interesting again, but it’s getting slightly more interesting at least.

That may be why I missed it. I enjoy boxing and I especially love it when the underdog wins, but I didn’t get to see that fight but it’s football season and that ranks higher than :boxing_glove:.

God, I didn’t even know this was going on. The America’s Cup has been relegated to the back pages of the Internet.

New Zealand won! I didn’t watch any of it this year. I hope next time it gets more coverage.

Canada is sucking at hockey. We just lost to the US at the world juniors, which is how to tell who the next great hockey powerhouse is going to be. Last year we finished fifth. I really think Canadian hockey peaked in the mid teens, about ten years ago, where nobody in the world could touch our men’s or women’s teams. We haven’t won a men’s gold since 2014. At least our women continue to do incredibly well, but it’s not the same without the men. Let’s see how we do in the playoff round of the juniors. I don’t hold out much hope for the 2026 Olympic gold.

The USA just beat Finland to win gold.
