He’s Dagestani which is very close to Russian while still being separate. It has now come out that he won that fight with a broken foot and two broken toes. He’s superhuman. And yet if you looked at a photo of him you wouldn’t think anything of him.
He has a perfect record. That is about all I can say. Not all by knockout or submission. But no recorded loss. His bouts aren’t the most entertaining to me and he isn’t the most entertaining fighter.
Here is one of Buakaw’s fights where he is KO’d. Buakaw is awesome to watch and will make you hold your breath. Because he drops like this a lot unexpectedly, not just his dazzling moves and knockouts. Video should start about 18 something. Take a look at the fall.
Buakaw totally outclasses this mma fighter/kickboxer, but watch as buakaw is sent down to the mat at 1:02 and endures all the punishment he can dish out before taking the win.
He is about survival and sport survival and sportsmanship.
I learned karate at a rec center when I was young. I don’t regret it because of fighters like Andy Hug. He is basically a karate guy in any type of fight he takes even muay thai bouts where he uses just straight up karate techniques to deadly effectiveness. Who cares about other’s years of boxing/muay thai years growing up or being trained wrong because all you had was rec center karate.
Check out some his bouts. I’m sure it comes easy to be a karate guy for some people, but he stays a karate guy and comes out on top when karate is really low on odds. Form perfect pure karate techniques. All they say won’t work in a boxing match.
Even if fighters get hit or take a loss, it’s about having style. That sells just as much as a record and “overwhelming wins”.
This is entertaining. He doesn’t ever look like he is getting picked on.
Not everyone has this. If he ever fell over backwards in a fight so what?
The KFC? Are you eating a bucket?

I loath commercials. Especially commercials that attempt and fail at comedy.
This is a valid point. His best weapon is his ability to fight both upright and on the ground. This can lead to lengthy boring grappling sessions.
do they send blimps to these matches?
tonight the aerial coverage of a stadium with a roof is brought to you by Goodyear
No. They’re held on Fight Island, one of the Yas Islands in Abu Dhabi. The Arabs generally have horrible, excessive and ostentatious taste but they have not yet started using blimps that I know of.
Bless your heart, Reg. You post the most stunning photos. Is that one of your own or did you take from someone else?
It’s not mine. I have never been there. Might never go. I used to really love the idea of the UAE but the truth is I am seriously turned off of that area lately. I don’t like the idea of theocracies or absolute rule.
The world is getting much uglier these days. China is much less attractive a destination in recent years under their new xenophobic government. Europe is becoming xenophobic, too. I don’t blame them as much given the Muslim invasion they’re experiencing but it doesn’t make it any more comfortable, especially for a brown person. The US waffles between extremes and I really want nothing to do with your country these days (no offense intended). I thought of moving to Africa but I spent a few months in the Capetown Facebook group and realized that place is still just far too racist and weird for me.
I’m starting to wonder if the world is worth exploring these days.
Your rant is both disappointing and depressing but your only option is Hell. Good luck with that!
america is great for us white folk
after we invade your country, we’ll explain why
the world was never worth exploring
wasn’t always so dangerous
used to be ok to kill other races
now we have to have a reason that the newspapers will print
lol
how old am i?
newspapers!
Then why are you all on antidepressants?
That went so well for you last time in 1812.
The world has never been safer, and there are many places still worth exploring. Note, my definition of exploring means living there for a year or more, not flying there for a week and staying at a hotel.
Iceland looks like it’s worth a visit but not worth living in. Svalbard looks so amazing I’d move there if I were younger. Spain is in Europe but hasn’t succumbed to xenophobia. It is one of the few places in Europe that I still seriously think of living in. Malaysia (the country of my birth) is a stupid Muslim banana republic but it has an energy I can’t deny and I sometimes think of spending a few years there. Rwanda in Africa looks absolutely amazing. They took the opportunity after the 1990s genocide to rebuild a new, clean, safe and wonderful society and I seriously think of living there for a few years. People don’t usually realize it but Rwanda is probably the cleanest place in the world. Every Sunday, everyone no matter how rich or how poor, is required to take 2 hours and clean up the streets. There is effectively no litter there. And finally, while I now know Colombia at a level most people never will (having lived in Bogotá, Mosquera and Medellín), I am still tempted by it, especially Cartagena de Indias. Magical place. They banned cars from the old city and people get around with only horses. I love it there.
you should come to maine
i think we allow non-europeans
at least in the summer
not sure who owns them tho
