Good Sports Day

Djokovic just got disqualified for this totally unintentional ball that hit a linesman. Ridiculous.

Totally agree. Although that seems to be tennis. He was undefeated. This year.

Serena is still alive. She just beat Sloane Stephens who is probably the best looking tennis player of all time.

Ana Ivanovic is also very good looking.

Pretty harsh -

Because he was defaulted, Djokovic will lose all ranking points earned at the US Open and will be fined the prize money won at the tournament in addition to any or all fines levied with respect to the offending incident."

Djokovic earned $250,000 in prize money by reaching the fourth round.

I’ll take that 250000. Might as well put it to good use.

I think it goes to the officials who threw him out.

They could have just hit a tennis ball at his neck and given me the 250000.

Now wait a minute. He takes a shot in the neck and YOU get the money?

From this short clip, it’s obvious he’s irritated and should have controlled himself. The judge should go on a spending spree and reward himself for his fair and unbiased judgment.

The drama from the line’s person looked ridiculous and probably played a big part in the judgment. I would think they would be tennis players and accustomed to being hit by a ball occasionally - could have shook it off for the sake of the player rather than turned it into an attention getting dramatic event. Pretty wimpy if you ask me and if so delicate probably shouldn’t be on the court.

Well he can stay in the tournament. Why should the officials get money for doing nothing?

The rule is clear and this has happened in the past with DQs. The officials probably did the right thing but should be allowed to use discretion. Which they don’t seem to.

I have as much right to the money as you do.

I just figured that was how they made money.

Ok. We can split the 250.

I’m fine with that.

I agree that the line judge was over the top. The main reason is she was grasping at her throat like she couldn’t breathe. I think if I couldn’t breathe and had a damaged windpipe, I would take off my mask immediately. She also didn’t need to go to the hospital. I can see dropping initially out of shock, but not acting like you can’t breathe and still keeping your mask on. Way over the top. You’d think someone running around for 3 hours in the heat with a mask on would be a little tougher.

Actually she was a line judge. I should correct that in my last post. Not ball girl so she stands in the shade possibly. Rather than running. I guess standing in the same spot for 3 hours doesn’t require much toughness.

You’re such a positive reinforcement for the art of toughness. Perhaps you can demonstrate the correct positioning for toughness in one of your yoga stances, preferably in a 3 hour video.

Watched some baseball highlights. What’s up these arms? I could hold a bat more firmly with my stomach.
