I have a bunch of children’s books some of them from my childhood all in good condition. I could ship them to you.
You can see them here as well. I just don‘t read books anymore, also not digital ones. Maybe the muse hit me again when retiring and need to beat time. Now I am simply glad if I get free time and most of it is filled with homework and my pets. I don’t even get to play music.
I wish we could have read it at school or get it legally to know what foreigners talk about, lol. It’s our history and it’s so silly to not get to the core of it out of fear people could misinterprete it.
Come to think of it, this might b even the first book I will read when in reading mode again, lol.
I agree 100% with allowing Mein Kampf, but having read it (at least the English translation), I can tell you it was the most boring book I’ve ever read. Except maybe James Joyce’s Ulysses. God he was awful, too. And Salman Rushdie’s Satanic Verses was crap, too.
Reading about history usually always is boring.
Try reading it if you get a chance. It is worse than most. Especially the part about his life in Austria. God that was hard to get through. Not because it was offensive but because it was boring. And the “Jews suck” stuff over and over again gets old fast.
Satanic Verses and Ulysses weren’t historical books.
I knew that…
I might be nearer to you next month Dan. Your still mass right? I’m talking md.
I would. Someone would probably throw them out.
Why would you put those in a child’s library and not something like Treasure Island or Dr. Seuss Collection?
What does Trump seem to expose and discomfort you about SO MIUCH?
Those aren’t children’s level of reading. What does that open to? He just mentioned satanic verses…
What was whispered in your ear Reggie? Why are you getting stupid and perverse again. Why the children’s attack?
That’s a good cat familiar Dan.
It’s not a children’s library, Mark. It’s a little free library that Dan is putting in his yard. Most people using it will surely be adults.
Yes. I think most will be adults. First grade and kindergarten are across the street from me, but they have no idea what mein kampf is. Some parent might throw it out. That’s fine, too. I’ve heard it is poorly written.
I’m not considering it my library. I’ll probably only look at it once a week.
Yes, it’s stupid and boring.
It’s more yours than anyone else’s. If it gets dirty, you’re the one who has to clean it.
Yes. I will have to maintain it.
I have never heard of the turner diaries.
It was a book by William Pierce about white people finally getting sick of all the darkies and having a race revolution in which the US government was overthrown, and the USA was declared a whites-only nation and all non-whites were deported or exterminated.
If you remember the Oklahoma City Bombing in 1995, Timothy McVeigh was heavily influenced by The Turner Diaries.
That makes sense. It sounds awful.
I have a predicament. I would need an excavator to dig a hole 2 feet deep near the road. No wonder there is no grass. My plan was to put the post in a plastic bucket, stick it in a planter and put a post behind it, so the library would be drilled down into the 4x4, some of it could be drilled into the plywood at the top of that 4x4, and the back would be drilled into the post behind it. This is not possible in this setup.
I could do some time of rectangular planter and get both buckets back to back. Unless the post behind it is not necessary.
Or I might put the tall post in the same planter. I’d have to put concrete in the planter itself, which has holes in the bottom.
I just noticed all the crap on the floor in my garage. Remember Daniel’s apartment? Lol. He kind of stopped coming here after operation warp speed, where trump took credit for the covid vaccines. It’s so weird how some folks have 1 topic that will DQ them from supporting a candidate. I guess for him, that was vaccines. I feel pretty strongly about medicare for all, affordable housing, banning private prisons, education for all and I support giving Israel nothing. There are few politicians here that agree with me there, but I don’t think I have had the same reaction to them as Daniel did to Trump. It must have surprised him.
I’m answering my own question. Either the planter gets concrete in it or I need a rectangular planter.
