Food

Trump sent word to farmers last night. We have to prepare to trade domestically. Our trade partners are sulking, I guess, because we are playing by our rules and not theirs. What a bunch of grabembythephaters.

You mean he screwed the farmers?

No I mean he’s digging further into isolationism.

Michele, even you should be able to see this.

The USA makes far more soybeans, nuts, dairy, wheat and corn than it needs. You export almost $200 billion of those things. You import food that is labour intensive, such as vegetables and fruit. Yes, you could produce vegetables and fruit in the USA, but it would cost far more, so the price of food would go even higher. Beyond that, many of those Trump-voting idiots in the midwest who produce soy, nuts, dairy, wheat and corn will go bankrupt because sanctioned nations will buy those from Canada and not the US.

End result: higher food prices, higher bankruptcies, you lose the expensive crops and gain the cheap ones. Just stupid business.

Anyone can see that a country with a market of 300 million people is not going to do as well as those countries that trade with the world and have a market of 8 billion people.

And so opens the wonderful world of farmers market.

Farmer’s markets let you buy whatever is being grown near you. They don’t let you buy anything else, except at bloated prices because they were shipped in. And small farms that can do things like farmer’s markets can’t compete price-wise with huge corporate farms that export, so again, higher prices on everything. For you, that is. We’ll keep our lower prices.

No, you’ll keep nothing. You will be assimilated and exploited for resources.

The USA is certainly looking like the Borg lately. lol.

That’s more you with prosthetic and skin graft.

I don’t think we are getting a choice, Reg. Our options are going to be raise our own or buy from local farmers.

You mean GMO corn will cease to exist in America? How tragic, but I understand your disappointment.

Sure, anyone can see that. What you don’t see is the work we have to do to clean up this country and the forever poisons sanctimonious elites have fed us. What I don’t understand is why someone like you would think it’s better for us to eat that garbage instead of clean produce from local farmers.

Agreed, because Trump is too stupid to realize that, and his followers are too stupid to call him on the fact that he promised lower grocery prices.

Clean produce from local farmers costs more and is less safe than produce from large farms, despite idyllic nonsense from people who live in a fantasy about how good things used to be in the past. Eat your $30 cucumbers, then. Enjoy!

Trump is the one who informed us of it. We agree.

You mean eggs are more expensive through locals than in a farmers market?

Also, if there is no shortage of chickens, why is there a shortage of eggs?

We don’t agree at all. The fat orange idiot promised to bring your grocery prices down. They’ve gone up since he took office.

Nah. I had a spaghetti squasher, a plastic and metal little hand powered machine to make spaghetti squash but I think it got thrown out or taken. There are so many evil whispers and black magic “not good” trying to drive the household insane.
Don’t really need that evil.
But this is spiralizer for cucumbers etc.

I don’t remember if these were mustard greens or not. Mustard leaves shrink about 10x or more. Might be a bit strong eating raw and might not be too pleasant when boiling them down in smell.
Fine when cooked.

Who spoke to you in your dreams Michele? Describe the man.
What did you have in common? Did you read my words the other day and said to yourself “it was my son who wrote that” and I was irrelevant and non-existent in your mind?

What’s your mission with the nutrition?

Not you and I, Dingdong. We, the people, and Trump.

Why are you being so pushy! Those prices didn’t go up in a day. They aren’t going down overnight.

why not? trump promised that, didnt he?

It’s a mystery. What’s the answer? Why would there be a shortage if eggs if we don’t have a shortage of chickens? We destroyed a large farm full of chickens over bird flu but that didn’t create a shortage of chickens.

I have another question.

Does the rise in unemployment lower inflation?

Yes, but not on day one and not in a day.
