Sure, but if you know that you will have to die in terrible pain, like for example by suffocating due to the illness you have (there was some woman unsuccessfully filing a lawsuit for assisted suicide a few years ago at the ECHR), then I think it should be allowed. And frankly, I am also in favour of assisted suicide if t’s clear that someone has a long way of suffering to go through without any chance to improve. If such a person wants to leave before their natural time, what is gained if society refuses?
