The farewell of Luci to Dr. Linda. I don‘t believe in fate but rather in free will, albeit we are always influenced by so many things. I just don‘t have any better term for free will.
Nico, you should use drugs, too!
i do, i enjoy tea and sometimes even coffee!
wait, are you giving them away for free? lol
Lol@t-shirt. I am known among my friends and family to hug more often than anyone else, though. But I think it’s ok to change that proportion for once, lol.
PS: That´s actually a funny idea. I guess I will surprise them and order for each one such a t-Shirt for this occasion, lol.
Apropos hugs. This reminded me on Aimee Garcia, who played the everyone hugging forensic scientist on Lucifer. And this video of her favourite scene came up. I remember that scene she describes here. So funny. Oh my prejudices, because I instantly thought it was either Tom Ellis or some male director who suggested to do this. But no. It was Lauren German. This is really so opposed to her screen character, lol. A naughty girl she is, lol.
Maybe I will find that clip on YouTube, lol.
Lol@Aimee thinking „All about the forensics, all about the forensics…“ while doing it. Oh my.
Couldn’t find it yet, but a short moment can be seen on this video, starting at minute 03:07. But I recommend the whole video. Both Garcia and Ellis are really cute and funny throughout.
I really wonder, if there would have been any significant change in how negative women generally are viewed by men, if Eve wasn‘t described in the Bible as the one who is responsible for Adam committing the first sin and as a consequence women altogether as subordinant to men. My guess is a no, as only till feminism arised, power alone was the main force, regardless which gender, be it between two people, within a clan or a realm. But maybe the change would have come earlier.
I love that the series touched also this issue, among others, and I loved, that Lucifer and his brother haven’t had an answer to her question. Well, Amenadiel had sort of an explanation later for Chloe, but it wasn‘t really an answer to that question in my opinion. This explanation weakened this scene to my disappointment. But nevertheless, I loved their speechlessness here.
Obviously not. Those who were never exposed to the Jewish creation story were not feminists, either, until the last hundred years or so. Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and others all had similar gender roles as Christians and Jews.
If you look at humans before the Jewish creation story came about, you will again find no change in gender roles or perceptions. Until a few thousand years ago, the human race propagated largely (although not exclusively) through rape. Given that homo sapiens are about 300,000 years old, for 99% of human history, rape was an accepted and normal thing.
Sure, just like everything else in society was based on plain physical power, which consequently also lead to economical and thus contributed to even more power to one gender. As I said, from the smallest entity (couple) up to even realms. Slavery exists also already long before Judaism. Nearly every culture on the globe knew slavery and lived accordingly. And yet, in some cultures, women enjoyed more rights than they did with the known religions today.
But, and that was my point, religions enforced this and made it a divine law without any possibility to question it even. This is why even today, Christians, Muslims, Jews etc. still don‘t question womens and mens role regarding gender hierarchy. Even you as an Agnostic. So, without those religions still preaching and explaining it and nip any question in the bud by stupidly referring to a God, I believe the situation for women would be a significant better one.
I seriously consider to go back to Prime again. Watching those flicks with subtitles I realize, that in the first 2 seasons Tom Ellis spoke way faster than in the later seasons. Especially in season 1. Maybe because here he and Chloe behaved together rather as „opponents“ and thus their vocal exchange were more rapid. Reading the subtitles made me realize I missed out many of the fun. This flick with many different scenes from season 1 is packed with hilarious scenes I totally missed. For example Luci using his charme to bring a female officer to give him her gun to play with and even let him handcuff her, lol.
And again I got aware, how handsome he was in season 1 (till up to season 3), before he started his intense muscle building training. I mean I am still talking about a 10 on the scala, but he was so elegant back then.
r’ amen, a world without extreme religions would be a world where humans could finally grow and become more humane… so not just better for women, for everyone
Then why are countries that developed under Christianity (Western Europe, Canada, USA, Australia) so much nicer than countries that developed under atheism (most of Africa, the Soviet Union, Maoist China)? In fact, countries that effectively banned religion (Maoist China and the Soviet Union) were perhaps the most disgusting places to live in human history.
And why are even the nicer countries becoming toilets as they abandon Christianity?
The life in countries which reduced the influence of Christianity became „toilets“? Only a misogynist and homophobe would claim such a nonsense.
Yeah, that heterosexual man who talked about going to brothels, attending night clubs, whining about strippers demanding money for blow jobs, equalizing married women to maids and legal prostitutes, commenting negatively about marriage, commitment, his favour for anal sex and fantasies about a sexual slave, polygamy, etc. is so much better.
Not to mention that countries with a still strong Christian, Muslim, etc. influence, often means more violence and oppression of women and even death sentences for homosexuals.
As much I dislike such homosexual parades because of such images, your alternative would be wayyyyyyyyyyyy worse. Again, get your perspectives straight finally and stop being a hypocrite.
why would anyone dislike seeing 2 grownups showing their love for eachother?
Yes, Gunda, normal men are indeed so much better. True.
Total nonsense. Christian countries oppress homosexuals far less than any other type of country. And absolutely no Christian country puts them to death.
What alternative? I haven’t proposed an alternative.
Because it’s vomit inducing? Don’t worry, Nico. I support such acts in the Netherlands.
the sickness goes away when you become less selfish and more humane and tolerant
Or when I leave Amsterdam, whichever comes first.
