This is a gem. Catarina Valentes huge talent and precision, and Dean Martins funny charme, despite he looks already harmed from the alcohol and age. Anyway, this is a great performance especially by Valente. But I love the whole interaction.

I used to watch Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis when I was growing up. Loved them both. Martin wasn’t so funny to me back then but I can appreciate his work upon reflection. He was about 50 in the clip you just posted and I think he looks great there. If you want to show people what alcohol and age does, you should post his last known image. It’s much more true to your point.

Eric Burdon changed quite a bit in 6 years.

A rare vocal version of the Canon.

I never heard this piece. It’s wonderful.

Here’s the full version. It’s a song by Christopher Tin who wrote Baba Yetu.

Good morning. Lol, I was too tired last night to look for it, as I came back from a dinner and was a bit drunk. But while slurping my morning coffee, I just post a request on YouTube, to get the name of the title in order to listen to the whole version. This was only 30 seconds ago before I came on here. Thank you very much, I am going to listen to it now.

I love that refreshing mix of Western and African instruments. Great sensitive tune, wonderful athmosphere. Love the sensitive male voice, and the female singers voice is very beautiful too. Soft and pure. I love to hear that African language. This piece wouldn’t be as magical, if sung in english or in any other language. Regardless the content.

Waloyo Yamoni is magic and I love it but that version of Baba Yetu makes me feel the presence of God. Those South Africans have game.

As an Atheist I wouldn’t phrase it like that. Baba Yetu is full of life, very dynamic.

Whereas Waloyo Yamoni spreads spiritual tranquiliy to me. I like both, but feel more attracted to Waloyo Yamoni.

Someone posted, that it has the potential to be a hymn for the world. I like that approach and thought.
