The original video is crap. But I love how it was used in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, played and directed by Ben Stiller.
Apropos Ben Stiller. If anyone watches Bear Grylls little adventure tours with show biz stars, that episode with Stiller is worth it. This calm guy is pretty tough when it comes to stepping out of his comfort zone. I was surprised by him. He seemed he was too.
Here is one short flick from that Bear Grylls episode with Ben Stiller. I can remember that scene. Spoiler alert: Itās not on the video, but Stiller managed against my bets to climb up. He was finished with his physical energy shortly after reaching the middle of the height already as can be still seen in this video. But however he got this incredible power from out of nowhere, was impressive to me. In the same situation, I definitely would have given up. But he obviously belongs to those people I envy, who can grow by themselves.
Hereās the same song but using images not from the movie but from various landscapes. I donāt know why, but I never travelled to explore other people and their culture. The only exception is Italy. Here I only went for their culture. I never was interested in both. Maybe due to my shyness. People exhaust me. But I always went for landscapes. If I met nice people on the road, that was a very nice bonus and especially when standing in awe in front of a stunning nature, I always felt the urge to share it. But I think I am not made to go the whole way with a person. Or it must match 100%. But the best vacations I had when traveling alone. Freedom pure. Also New York was great, but even here my friend arrived 3 days after me and had to leave for her business appointment after 2 days already. Meeting her in between was great. Having the rest for me and my own pace - equally great if not even needed.
I thought I am done with traveling, but watching these great landscapes I really wish I could grab my backpack and book a flight and a car, lol.
You should. Might as well live a bit more before you die. Thatās what Iām trying to do. I know Iām getting older and will have to stop in time, but for now, Iām alive and Iām living. Look for my posts from El Salvador in a few weeks. You, living in the EU, can go to amazing places for almost no money. I envy you that.
I will try with my dog to get to France in a motorhome, if my Modul House Dream dies, which is likely. But due to a work project starting in march and ending after 9 month as well as my stationary rehabilitation, I needed to move that vacation plan to spring 2026 earliest, maybe autumn 2026. I need minimum 4 weeks for that tour to the Normandie and Bretagne (and back).
I just remember that I not just travelled to Italy to see their predominately Roman architecture and most beautiful cities by far in the world, but I also several times went to Berlin only for the Pergamon museum and the Gates of Babylon there. A pity they donāt have a place to build all of those ancient bricks up which lie in the dark cellar. In the original height and width of that procession road. This would be gorgeous. The Middle East and their ancient āpaganā architecture is what I would love to visit if there would be anything stunning to watch. Or the pagan finds in Turkey, which seem to be the first ritual buildings by mankind if I remember correctly. I am not into the ancient Egypts building achievements at all, though, as impressive they might be for experts. Zero interest. Same to the ancient Greeks.
Wow. I was in Rome for a week with two friends of mine. Went to nearly every must see spot. I never detected garbage. My friends did not either as we surely would have talked about that. I also was around the Lake Garda, Verona, Florence and other smaller towns. I donāt remember having seen garbage lying around. But the last time I was there (Rome) was about 10 years ago.
Ok, Last two posts of mine abusing this thread for other than music. If anyone else is interested in the Babylon procession road, maybe these two videos are of interest or maybe ignite it:
And hereās my second post: When you are already in the Pergamonmuseum, then pop out to pop into the nearby located Neue (New) Museum with mainly Middle and Eastern European artefacts, like this gold hat made out of one piece of pure gold. Only a few of them have been found throughout Europe.
A pity I didnāt make it to their Scythian exhibition back then. I guess they donāt have many permanent pieces in Berlin. Which is a pity, as I find their gold art extraordinarily beautiful.
There are also a few more museums on that Museum island. So take enough time.
Scythian Gold (located in a Russian Museum, not in Berlin!):
You did watch your own video right? Thatās all of Europeās trash too. Donāt worry Netherlands is helping and has the most efficient land management for farms.
Stay out of EU you are not Europa by citizenship, birth, blood born or shed, or by love or acceptance.
